  1. Well, the associated platforms page is most important for during import and if you use command lines. If you're already done importing, and you're not using command lines in that page, then it actually shouldn't matter. If the games are already using MAME, but no command line is given in the associated platforms page, then it shouldn't matter. It does matter if you put multiple systems in there and use commands; So think MESS and RetroArch.
  2. Well, that might work, but now the controller will never sleep if it's wireless, draining the battery, and I'm not sure if that will fix the issue after a restart.
  3. That's an image for your platform. If you go in to LaunchBox, then Tools -> Manage Platforms, you'll see all the images for that platform like you would see for games. Use the arrows to find the image you want, right click it and remove it. Or, you can also change it to something else you'd want. This will remove that image from any view that uses it. Once you reboot Big Box, if it doesn't go away, you may need to refresh your cache in the options menu.
  4. You can also go to Tools -> Manage Platforms, and create the Platform in here. Then, use the Add button in the bottom right hand corner and fill in the information manually. If you have multiple things to add, dragging and dropping or using the import function, assigning it an "emulator", and then removing that assignment with the Bulk Edit Wizard will be easier. If you just want to add 1 thing though, then adding it manually might be easier.
  5. What are you trying to play? What system and what emulator? If you want more help there is our tutorial series where I used to make the tutorials and I covered quite a few systems. Someone else does them now. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6pTDaHeAz-WMcNURVPU-1xLN_TVpT3FB
  6. You can arrange the games by certain fields in the View menu at the top. There is an Arrange By category in here that will help some customization on that front. Otherwise, to specifically sort games more, when you right click -> edit a game, there is a tab called Other. Click that and on this tab there is a "Sort Title" field, that you can use to specifically sort your games the way you want.

Oh certainly, and I really do appreciate that, but I still need to attempt to kindly point that out just in case. Some people are not as accommodating and feel like their way of doing things is best.
  8. You need to enable it in the options and choose from the drop down your controller.
  9. All right, that wasn't my point either. Was just sharing, but ok.
  10. It looks like those games weren't imported because they're not normal DOS Games. They look to be ScummVM games. So even if they are DOS, they don't have an exe, bat or com file to attach it's self to. Also, if you run an import again, then the importer will only add games you haven't imported already, so it skips duplicates automatically.
  11. Go to Tools -> Options. On the left check Default Background, and also with a Premium License you can also use Background Priorities.

For videos to download you actually need both premiums. If you want to contribute to our Database though, then head on over to the database site, create an account and start. But, we have guidelines that I would like you to read through. A lot of games get changed or added frivolously because people wanted to for their own personal reasons. If you want to talk to other contributors or mods, you can check our the Database subforum or our Discord server as well. Edit: Oh, and there are a ton of threads in the subforum too, some questions may have been answered.
  13. Yep, I got it too. @circo is most likely on it.
  14. You need Premium even for the more advanced LB customization as well, like colors, spacing, etc.
  15. Is this not something we can swap in the forum? I recall another topic about this too.
  16. Yea, that certainly seems like a corrupted file or the codecs aren't working right. Try installing the K-Lite Codec Pack Standard, and if it says it found any problems click yes on each to let it fix them.
  17. If you use the DOS Importer and tell it your root DOS folder, it will search in sub folders. All of mine are set up that way too, the full name, short hand name, then the game files. Even when I used "Use folder name for game names", I was afraid it'd pick shorthand, but it picked the long hand names. Edit: To clarify, the DOS Importer works different then the others. It knows a list of extensions and basic names to try and pick from and will automatically try and pick the exe, bat or com file required. You'll need to change that from time to time, but when it comes to the actual importing it works great and will only pick up 1 game per folder.
  18. I prioritized N. America for me. If a game was never released here though, as long as it still follow the check boxes below, it will still get imported. All that means (more or less) is that when a game was released multiple places, which language do you prefer? As far as if things are still missing and what to do about it, then try talking to Jason over at the beta thread.
  19. It was used to create shading when colors and resolution were limited though. It can work in some games, but for me, turning up the amount of colors so gradients actually work and making the game look crisp is how I prefer it myself.
  20. Press Esc or B to go in to the menu, go to Videos and turn off the background videos and make sure you're using a view that doesn't want to use background videos.
  21. Overrides or custom configs would solve this. You don't have to assign the buttons, but you do need to change the device index. With the core loaded up, go to the configurations menu item on the first tab and select "save new config". I puts that in your RetroArch/configs folder. Copy the name, including .cfg, and go to the associated platforms page for RetroArch. Find the line that you want to edit, and after the -L command, put -c "config\config_name_.cfg". Make sure there's a space after the -L command and that the -c is lower case. Then, when you load up any games for that system it will then load the custom config. Load a game from that system and make your changes.
  22. As far as I know, many people have that issue and I haven't seen a solution for it yet.
  23. I should actually close this thread, I am no longer doing tutorials.
