MAME GCE Vectrex Software System Custom Artwork File View File The standard issue of the GCE Vectrex software system artwork file, vectrex.zip limits all games to a common, generic bezel. That's how MAME does software system external artwork by default. This is essentially a version of vectrex.zip that will allow each game associated with the Bezel Project GCE Vectrex pack to display it's own bezel at launch. Games that don't have a Bezel Project bezel will use the generic one. Note that this is for use with MAME itself and is not compatible with RetroArch. Once downloaded, the file MAME GCE Vectrex.zip should be unzipped. The artwork file in the download is vectrex.zip and it contains the multi-view lay file. The game bezels themselves are not included, due to permission from the Bezel Project to distribute them not sought, so you will need to download the pack and drop the bezels into the artwork vectrex.zip yourself. You will also need to set LaunchBox Custom Command-line Parameters to allow MAME to match the correct bezel for each game. This is explained in the download. The vectrex.zip artwork file will work whether you are emulating using direct media calls (games with the long naming and vec, bin, gam extensions) or emulating using a software list. Notes: The lay is a single elememt one, as the Bezel Project pngs combine the actual bezel and the vectrex game overlay into one image. Some other vectrex lays use two elements, where separate overlay and bezel images are used. When checking out the Vectrex on-line, I got the impression that the game aspect was not 3:4 but slightly wider. I couldn't come up with an agreed answer so I went with 3:4. So the game area is 810 x 1080 with an offset of 555 to centre it. If you want a wider aspect, then you need to increase the lay screen width (for all views) and reduce the X offset by half the width increase. The image fields could do with a revamp. The current Box 3D needs splitting into two fields for front and back 3D box views. Cassette front and back media fields need to be added. Currently, people submit cassette images under cart.

MAME ColecoVision Software System Custom Artwork File View File The standard issue of the ColecoVision software system artwork file, coleco.zip limits all games to a common, generic bezel. That's how MAME does software system external artwork by default. I use Alt+F4 It closes BeebEm whether opened inside or outside of LaunchBox.

Game Notes for all your installed games are in the various xmls in the Data/Platforms folders. Search the files using Notes. Also, the Metadata.xml in the Metadata folder contains the overviews for all games in the LaunchBox Games Database. Search this file using Overview.

@yorketto I'm not too sure if I understand what you're trying to do. If you want to be able to set/unset a game as Favourite with BigBox locked, you can do that by allowing that feature in the Options Security settings before you lock BigBox.

You can emulate ColecoVision through MAME using either a software list or full rompath direct media calls. If you're using the roms with the .col extension that ColEm uses then you can use direct media calls. The ColecoVision Associated Platform Default Command-Line Parameters for LaunchBox are coleco -cart and the games can have the normal ColecoVision naming or be zipped or not. However, the Bios that ColEm uses will not work. You need the system's romset, coleco.zip, which should contain the two files colecoa.rom 313 10031-4005 73108a.u2

Acorn Archimedes Game Boxes 3D View File A collection of 3D box images of games released for the Acorn 32-bit home computer series. It's not complete, as some games either have no artwork scans or very poor ones to work with. Box types and dimensions vary in line with the original game cases as far as I could discover. Some are already in the LaunchBox Games Database, with the remainder (for games that exist in the Database) being submitted soon. Included in this download, but not added to the LaunchBox Games Database are: 1. 3D box fronts for games not in the Database. 2. 3D box backs for some games. The Database does not support a Box Back-3D image field. 3. 2D front and back covers (face only, no spine) reduced to jpg format. Not included are boxes for non-game software (educational, utility etc.). When I decided to skip the non-game boxes, I'd already done quite a few. I did a cull, but some may have crept in. A few boxes in the Database may differ slightly from those in this download. Whenever edits were made the boxes were updated on the Database, but I may have slipped up here and there. Enjoy. Many thanks @Jason Carr Guest topic reading is working again.

Since the recent forums update a little earlier, I'm unable to browse topics as a guest and get the error below. When logged in then everything works as before the update. The error isn't making much sense to me.

This TTL game is internal to MAME so there is no breakout.zip, unless the import process maybe creates a dummy one. The MAME command line for it is just mame64.exe breakout You can launch it through LaunchBox by making a dummy zip, or else, like I do, by pointing LaunchBox to just breakout.

I haven't tried out that emulator. It's user manual seems all to do with the GUI, but if you run it with the parameter -h it should show a list of it's command line parameters.

Emulating the Intellivision using the dedicated emulator Nostalgia is straightforward. You don't need to set any parameters in LaunchBox, everything can be set using the emulator's gui. However, you do need to source full versions of the grom and exec bins as the versions supplied with the emulator are crippled and will only run the games bundled with Nostalgia. You can also use MAME like I do.

Some time ago, Jason updated LaunchBox to allow it to handle games like that in the style that MAME itself does. So, instead of making a dummy zip, you can just point LaunchBox to either a non existing zip such as gtfore06.zip like @DOS76 is doing or to the chd folder itself. This is what I do and have no problems launching games like Golden Tee Fore! 2006 Complete, Chaos Heat and XII Stag to name just a few that have no dumped game roms.

@Quebert There was a game called Timber which was a tree felling 1984 Midway arcade game, but I don't believe it had caber tossing. The game's manufacturer, if you could remember it, would be a great help.

@xllovera I'm not too sure whether you want to edit the theme or just hide the platform banners. In BigBox try going to Options, Images and disabling the Show Platform Banner Images tickbox
