Version 1.0.0
83 downloads
Note before downloading: This is for MAME only and is not compatible with RetroArch. This custom version of the Intellivision Software System artwork file, intv.zip contains a multi-view lay file configured to work with the "bezelprojectSA-Intellivision" bezels pack. Any game associated with the pack can be set to display it's own bezel at launch. Games for which there are no Bezel Project bezels and therefore use Default Command-Line Parameters will open with the generic bezel Mattel-Intellivision.png. The bezel images are not included, so you will need to download the pack and drop the bezels into the artwork intv.zip yourself. You will also need to set LaunchBox Custom Command-line Parameters to allow MAME to choose the correct bezel for each game. This is explained in the download. The intv.zip artwork file will work whether you are emulating using direct media calling (such as games with the bin, int, itv or rom extension) or emulating using the intv and intvecs software lists. With MAME, your Intellivision game names and their bezel image names do not have to match. The actual matching relationship is between the Custom Command Line <viewname> parameter and the descriptive view name used in the lay, and MAME will accept a partial match with the lay's view name string. Once downloaded, unzip the file MAME Intellivision SA.zip and read the enclosed text files. Meow! -

Hi @method Can you post the contents of one of your lay files as well as the filenames of the two bezels you are associating with it?
-
I make it a rule to never post when drunk with power, although I may have posted when drunk - damn you pesky beer!

Hi Christian and welcome to our community. That Mr. Carr can be a hard taskmaster. If it was up to me you would be a 1024 Quantum Computer with your own office and an Administrator sign on the door. Why I might even assign Neil as your private secretary.
-
You're more than welcome. You can use the same method in order to add the TTL game Breakout which also doesn't have a working rom and is currently integral to MAME itself.
-
To add the TTL game Rebound to your Arcade platform in LaunchBox where the game rom doesn't exist in the MAME romset, select Add and in the Edit Game window set the Title to Rebound, select the emulator, say MAME and then in the Launcher tab Rom File (Emulation is enabled) box just type in the game name, rebound.

I know that the LB Database does specify that images be in either jpg or png format. And you're right in that manually added images in bmp format will not show in the Game Details. Funnily enough clicking on the images icon just above a game box will show bmp format images.

If your build of MAME is 0.116 or newer, then the dkong.zip sound samples file is no longer needed. As of MAME 0.116 Donkey Kong uses discrete sound emulation, and the sound samples if present will be ignored by MAME. With an older build such as MAME 0.078, Donkey Kong needs a sound samples file. See link. http://samples.mameworld.info/ When you go to the linked site, select Older Samples.

You need to provide some information here such as what emulators you are using.
-
I have one screen only so can't help you on that.
-
I use the default BigBox theme and can only post for that. That area normally shows a preview video of a game. If no video is available, then it shows a screenshot of the game. If you aren't using game videos then in LaunchBox select Tools, Options and in Screenshot Priorities, set Box - Back to have top priority. You may then need to Refresh All Images within BigBox.

API.gamesdbase.com remote server returned an error (404) not found

I may be wrong but those look like EmuMovies server errors. If so, then perhaps you should contact Circo. -
Posting links to rom download sites is not allowed on these forums.

I doubt very much that LaunchBox/BigBox can interract with another frontend as you would like. LaunchBox/BigBox can launch another frontend no problem, as all you're doing here is treating the other frontend's executable as an application similar to, say, a Windows game. The other frontend, however, needs a platform and I don't believe that LaunchBox or BigBox can detect that a platform contains just one "game" and have it launch directly by clicking on the platform. Just out of curiosity, what is your other frontend?

@Zeaede blueMSX can emulate the Spectravideo as can MAME.
-
The diagonal lines and the absence of the bezel image is usually down to a difference between the bezel name and it's image file string within the lay file - these must be identical.

It's nice to see the UK/European 8-Bit machines getting a bit of attention. I'm a BBC Micro man myself, although I also have a soft spot for the others, especially the Spectrum, Dragon, Enterprise and MTX.

The parent of the game is Super Pang (World 900914) and Super Buster Bros. (USA 901001) is one of it's clones. See image below. You can also verify this from MAME's own UI. As you have a merged set, the files for the parent and it's clones will all be in the rom spang.zip

Enable the LaunchBox Don't Use Quotes and Use File Name Only tickboxes for the emulator. By the way, there are much better alternatives to WinKawaks out there.

My Perfect Dark.zip contains the file Perfect Dark (V1.1) (U) [!].v64 which works with both RA (mupen64plus_libretro core) and Project64 I can't recall where I sourced it, but Vimms Lair does the game zip containing the file Perfect Dark (USA) (Rev 1).z64 and this also works with RA and Project64. If you're interested in other regions and alt versions, then see Edge Emulation.

Those bezels have a transparent game window of approximately 1440 x 1080 which is a 4:3 aspect ratio. A2600 games have an 8:5 aspect ratio. Also, some games have offsets. MAME has Position and Stretch sliders that allow you to adjust each "out of step" game to fill it's bezel game window. This, however, distorts a game's aspect ratio. I don't know if RA supports this feature. While the A2600 bezels could be reworked to match the game aspect ratio, the issue of some games having offsets would still show up as black areas. Designing each bezel to have a window that fits the actual game playing area and hides the unwanted bits would result in some bezels having a lopsided look. Some users might find this as unsightly as seeing the black bits.
