  1. DOS76

    New to launchbox

@lordmonkusdo the Supergrafx cores really work for Famicom and FDS or was that a typo? Also curious why the bsnes mercury core over the bsnes?
  2. Are the ROMs being kept in the ROMs directory inside of your MAME root folder and if not have you pointed to where your ROMs are stored inside of your MAME.ini file?
  3. So far Alt names hasn't made it into the program yet and are only on the DB so it won't scrape them correctly.
  4. https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/
  5. For NDS I used Bulk File Renamer to edit out the numbers in the folders and then during import I used the use folder name checkbox in the import wizard. Okay I'm going to assume that you didn't move your ROMs into the LB games folder which is the default path that LB scans when looking for the added media so you will have to go to manage platforms choose your system and click edit once in the next form go to the folders tab and change the game path to the one that you are actually using and then try to rescan again and see if you get different results from before. In the side bar (left hand side) switch the category from All to that platforms and it will show a list of platforms that you have set up once you click one of them it should only show the games for that platform.
  6. One caveat with using MAME lately if I set up MAME I see LB auto assigns checkmarks to both the Don't use quotes checkbox and the Use file names only without the extensions and if either of these are checked it will break everything in MAME except the arcade stuff which will still work. I'm not sure if the changes Jason just made to the MAME stuff will change that though since now it doesn't check to see if the file exist for MAME which should allow for Merged sets being fully functional in LB now
  7. As an alternative to what @kmoney suggested if the program has to see the images in that specific folder you could use symlinks to leave the media in you HS setup how it is and at the same time create the links to the media in the LB folders and that way you would only need one set of images and you would get past the RL issue.
  8. Do the games launch if you launch them directly from MAME
  9. His system isn't booting into the Windows shell it is booting directly into BigBox I tried this on my arcade machine but I was using Bluetooth speakers and it didn't start the Bluetooth service so I had to change back myself. You could add J2k as rom in a platform and you could launch it from there or you can make a platform called utilities or applications and put programs that maybe useful in there I put the program I used to shell it in my platform so I could easily access the it and start Windows Explorer if need be. You may be able to right a .bat that will start BB and J2k and run that as the shell.
  10. some of the cores have changed names or if you are using other cores than the default ones setup in LB. Have you gone into edit emulators and checked if the associate platform core setting match the core names that are in your cores subfolder in your RA folder
  11. Most all arcade controls work with the program and it is LEDBlinky compatible.
  12. No just go into Tools>Options>Updates in Launchbox and its one of the settings in there
  13. When I played with using bsetshell I created a platform in BB callled utilities and add the program so if I needed to get back to File Explorer as my shell I had easy access to it right from inside the porgram. Also there is something wrong if you are getting that elevation issue that isn't normal behavior for the program
  14. Lilypad plugin from PCSX2 definitely works in ePSXe I've used it before to turn off the confirm on quit myself
  15. Right its in a relative path then and probably just says \Games\Platform or something similar. In NP++ then you would go to find and replace and find that path and then you would replace it with another but if you files are in the LB folder structure they should be completely portable
  16. Yes you can definitely do that.
  17. While many people may not be using something like this to be honest though if I was to rebuild or build a new arcade these (or something with similar function) would be a must. (playing a Pac-Man with a 8 way stick just blows goats.
  18. You can edit paths with Notepad++ just go into the Data folder and then into the platforms subfolder and you should see xml files for all of your platforms
  19. Yeah I discovered that the other day for some reason LB sets those settings when you set up MAME even though they aren't needed.
  20. Okay I have a 6TB my duo from a few years ago I had thought that the 16's hadn't been released yet and if you are getting the 16 for the price of the 12 you are getting a pretty good deal there. $100 off is a great discount
