Will LB have per-game themes like HS in the near future?
DOS76 replied to kiroscell's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
1 No they are the same visually but CritiacalCids are just recorded MP4's of the HS themes so they will 100% not work at all. 2 I don't remember if Cids videos are available through LB or if they are only on EM. I'm thinking its the latter but I'm really not sure -
Just a quick note here if you delete a game you can run clean up images from the tools menu and it will remove any images no longer attached to games for music, manuals and videos though you will have to manually remove them from your folder structure

if they are just game play videos the path should be videos\platform no themes involved if you have the other platform videos of the game play it will overwrite them -
someone suggested renaming the rom to the name of the zip you want to use if a merged set but I don't know if it was ever tested

If you look in the info file for the specific core you are talking about inside of RA you will see what file types it excepts

If it is a game video it goes in the video folder under the specific platform name if it is a platform video it goes in the platform folder inside of the video folder. For the Arcade section CriticalCid has video versions of all of the arcade themes from HS -
Oh my bad we were talking about MAME I thought the controller thing was for MAME too yeah I don't know that you can do that can't you just remap it though

i5 or i7 gen 4 or up at least 16GB of RAM 250-500 GB SSD OS drive a 5TB data drive and Nvidia card preferably 900 or 1000 series. If you are going to buy or build a PC use newerish parts but that is just me.

What version of MAME its working for me just tested

I'm concerned that If you moved the files into LB but your MAME.exe is somewhere else so is your MAME.ini and if that hasn't been edited to reflect the new ROM location then nothing should work. Even if you move the emulator into the games folder with the roms the roms have to be inside the roms folder or the ini has to be edited. Also just to add moving the roms back into the ROMs folder like I mentioned isn't an option either because that will break the path in LB

Its escape twice in a row to clear

Suggestion for rom of alternative region.

That is very much planned it just hasn't been implemented yet. -
showoff

Ok I don't see a new post for beta 12 so I'll post here I reimported my Arcade platform and LB gave a version name to everything so games with short names are displaying the title and the rom name as a version in LB turning off show versions under views fixes it but I was using that on a few other platforms

I like the idea of using a button combo and having a confirmation message pop up but a 1 button shutdown sounds like a bad idea to me.

Also you may want to hold off on importing something there are some new features that will be out next week improving on how it imports multi-disk games it may fix your C64 issue if you have games with multiple disks with multiple sides

Yeah its the location its trying to save nvram too it can't be saving in the programs folder it doesn't have that level of permission that is why LB doesn't install there

Okay I was doing a little fiddling with MAME to day and during this time I decided I wanted to have all of my Vertical games display on my vertical monitor and all the other games on my horizontal monitor which I knew was possible from using MAMEUI and MAMEUIFX which both have this feature but I wanted to figure out how to get it to work in stand alone MAME and I finally did thanks to this website and ingenuity. Since the website showed me it was possible but didn't show me how to achieve the goal I went with a hunch that if i renamed the MAME.ini file to VERTICAL.ini and changed the setting under OSD PER-WINDOW VIDEO OPTIONS>screen and set its value to \\.\DISPLAY2 (its DISPLAY2 in my case yours could be different depending on your circumstances) Also I'm not sure if the file needs to be in caps or not but that was how the page showed it and that is how I named it I do know for a fact though that the DISPLAY text is definitely case sensitive and must be capitalized to work. Hopefully someone else with Multiple monitors will get some use out of this as it is a pretty nice feature.

As long as you name the platforms the same names as before then yes you will have to get the metadata again just don't get any of the images or videos
-
agh what do you mean 6 emus/roms are they emus or ROMs and downloading the images again won't break anything it is just longer to import if you download images again and if you are only getting the same images that you already have why waste the time and or space if you end up with any duplicate images all the xml files are in a folder called data then the individual xml's are in a subfolder named platforms.

I explained to you yesterday that you needed to use NP++ in order to fix your rom paths in bulk. So if you had 1942.zip located at C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Arcade\ROMs\1942.zip and you moved it to C:\Emulators\Arcade ROMs you would go into NP++ go up to the menu at the top and click search from there go to find this will open a form on the page which will ask you for the path you are trying to find so you would put in C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Arcade\ROMs\ and then click the count button and it will show how many instances the path affects in the file if you get a count that is accurate to your amount of games then you are ready to click the replace tab on the form from there you will type in your new path C:\Emulators\Arcade ROMs now click replace all and save the xml. LaunchBox should be shut the whole time while you are editing the xml if not then none of the changes will take effect. As for the emulators you have to go to tools manage emulators and switch all of the paths. At this point you may be better off just deleting all of your platforms and reimporting them without downloading any media as the media you already have will just be reassociated with the ROMs once they have been imported again.

Citra is really the only choice and it isn't a ready for prime time player yet.
