LB Configuration Files to Backup when moving to a new install or new machine?
DOS76 replied to StevenSensei's topic in Noobs
If you install LB on a new computer and then drop your Data, Images Videos Manuals and Music folders into your new build it will all work just like on you old computer without importing anything. The Data folder is probably the most important folder there. Even if you want to do a complete new build for all other platforms, for your Arcade platform if you want it to be the exact same as the one you worked on then you need to just drop the arcade.xml in the the Data\Platforms folder. -
If you use the FTP I doubt you would need to edit every game but it would probably be a considerable amount more than when using the DB. I would suggest being patient and downloading it thru LB even if it takes longer.

Okay I'm sorry about that I just had to ask as none of that information was posted in the original post. Its been so long that I've messed with NullDC I couldn't tell you how I used to get it to work but I definitely could. I'd suggest checking out Redream, Demul or the Flycast core in RetroArch over NullDC but if you are set on using hopefully some one can help. Pretty much the same with 4DO I just use the RetroArch core and honestly I never play anything on 3DO. Good luck with these I'm sure there are user using those emulators who can chime in.
-
Both systems require BIOS files do you have those? Also Null DC is pretty outdated there are better alternatives for DC these days.

I'd try asking over at the Dolphin forum they might be able to provide you a better answer.

Presently the results from the recent poll are the top prioritized items to be worked on (assuming nothing breaks and needs to be triaged to the forefront). Only a few items from the poll have been working on as of yet most likely they will be what is worked on for the immediate future.
-
yeah I'd just like you to keep you expectations of things you request being added realistic as there is already a huge to do list and sometime what you feel is a priority may not be what other but mostly important what Jason sees as a priority. I've waited years to see things added in the past.
-
yeah but if its working with other games from the same platform my theory isn't going to fly then. I thought maybe if you were just killing the process the emulator wasn't saving as I've seen that in the past but that usually deals with emulator settings not saving and not the game not saving. The game saving honestly should not be affected at all by BB unless somehow you are having a permission issue and it won't save the file you are creating when using it through BigBox. Have you given admin level permission to LB/BB? In the past that has created issues with emulators not having the rights to save things.

I'd try asking on the LEDBlinky forums I'm sure the creator can give you a better answer then we can.

In some cases using NP++ is the better solution but you should always back up any xmls before making any changes to them. As an example I have a Windows Server which I haven't joined my clients PCs to so it has a different netbios then my clients so if my roms are on the shared network computer the server doesn't show up as an option when trying to change the folder that plus I've been doing it the NP++ since 2015 so I'm very used to it but like I said if you go this route always make backups before changing.

Its in input settings hot keybinds but I personally have had trouble getting it to work I have it set and it closes RA or so it appears as in it takes you back to the LB menu but RA is still active in the task kiler so since I'm on a phone when I want to exit I just press the task kill button and close it although that wouldn't be ideal for someone on a TV box or something without touch

can you turn off FreeSync when in BigBox and then have it start back up when you launch MAME?
-
Jason has said in the past if he ever stops working on LB it will be open sourced so as long as there were people willing (and capabable) then I don't see why it wouldn't keep being developed. Also it doesn't look like Jason is anywhere close to being done with working on it so I don't see this even being a real concern at this point.

Search pleasuredome roms in Google and then you are looking for the MAME 02.13 ROMs it comes in 3 flavors split merged or non-merged. Split is where all parents and clones are separate files. Merged is where all parents and clones are contained in the same file. Non-Merged which is the largest set has all parents and clones separate like split but all the clones also contain the parents thus making up the increased file. For example if a ROM has many clones then the clone rom archives will all contain that same parent. In two months 0.185 is going to be 30 versions behind so I would go to PD and just get the latest set to start off with.

Okay I have no clue what you would have to do to do this syntax wise but you would probably use an Additional app with a bat file to send the keypress start the game and send the closing keypress when exiting then you would replace the ROM or whatever file you are launching with the bat file in LB

I always copy my Data folder to another computer this way if my hard drive ever fails I can just download LB and drop my data folder back in and all my platforms and playlists will be auto populated again. You will still have to add new emulators and download media again but most of the work will be done already.
-
I don't know this definitively but LB doesn't actually do anything with your ROMs its populated with data in the xml files so I don't see why it would force your drives to spin up just by opening it. I would assume that when you launch a ROM and the command line calls for it. It will spin up. Even with RetroArch that wasn't something you set up right it was just Windows using your systems power settings I'm assuming.

go into either controller or keyboard options and set a button/key for views and then cycle through the views until you see the Clear logos

How much RAM does it have? I'm not going to lie I think BigBox is to heavy for your CPU but you can try it I just don't expect it to be very performant. I don't think the OS is even going to play into it but I'd go 10 due to EOL coming.

A couple of questions about MAME & RetroArch...

I'd ask on the Libretro forums -
Import tool cluttered Big Box with files (Wii U)

Okay so you meant the ROM importer that is why I was confused (well mostly) -

oh did you change the rpx file name? That isn't how I did it when I added my games I just clicked add on the bottom bar in LB then browse to my folder in the LB edit form. Then after choosing the RPX I'd type the Title into the Title cell and then match to the DB
