  1. Without the sarcasm though, its great that there is another full time staff member coming on board, and i look forward to meeting him/her and seeing what they have to offer.
  2. I would just like to thank Jason for his time. Its been established that i am a total dumbass and should not ever, ever apply for the position. "Apparently" he needs someone who can "code" so i had to withdraw and rethink my life.
  3. Yes. Depending on what MAME romset you are using you may have "games" that are not, but are needed for other games to work. That tool is not advised to be used with MAME, thats a whole different thing to normal console romsets.
  4. Im guessing you can not overwrite the version included with Launchbox, you would have to add the new version as a new emulator. Launchbox checks for its required files at launch and recreates them if it cant find them, so would likely overwrite anything you add there.
  5. If i had to guess i would say its the corsair, we have seen issues with them before.
  6. Tools/options/Debugging, check the box.
  7. Hmm, yeah even though i chose export 4 games it is exporting my whole MAME folder.
  8. Dont you just highlite the games you want then "export selected"?
  9. Then your Bigbox takes longer to load than the length of your startup video. The startup video just covers the loading and gives you something nice to look at as it does so. If it ends to soon you need to use a longer video that better fits the load time, or just put up with the black screen that you have now. Bigbox loading times will be dependent on system specs and game library size including playlists as auto populated ones can take a while to populate at launch, so it will be different for every user.
  10. Tools/Manage emulators/Retroarch/Associated platforms. You will need to click a empty cell at the bottom of the list and type the platform name EXACTLY as you named it, and pick a core from the dropdown. For example,
  11. If they are platforms then you need to add those platforms to the associated platforms list of your Retroarch entry. Launchbox doesnt read minds on what a platform is, and if its simply named something like EU it has no way of knowing the platform that it is or the core to use, unless you specify it.
  12. It's clearly stated on the download page which version or above is required, its simply not available on the version you have as it hadn't been implemented into the program at that point, hence the red text on the download page.
  13. The core just called MAME is the most recent one. I would recommend just sticking to standalone MAME though rather than using Retroarch.
  14. The one you linked is fine.
  15. That MAME you linked is 0.214 so you really need a 0.214 romset.
  16. The settings while in game are not supposed to save, you have to edit the ini file.
  17. Launchbox imports what you tell it to. If you just pointed it to a folder with multiple filetypes in it it wont know which ones specifically to import so will import everything. Just use the explorer search bar to filter your folder for just .gdi files and drag and drop them to Launchbox to import them. At the end of the day Launchbox is a launcher and can be used to launch anything, it doesnt care what the filetype is, it will simply import whatever you tell it to.
  18. Have you turned on controller support in the Bigbox options?
  19. With disc based systems you only import the .cue/.gdi files, that's all Launchbox needs to launch them.
  20. Are you using MSI Afterburner? If so add a exception in riva tuner for Launchbox.
  21. No that's well off the mark i'm afraid. Launchbox doesnt "require" you use any core, there are some defaults pre-configured but you can change them to any core you like in the dropdown in the associated platform tab for Retroarch. As for the snes9x2010 core thats incorrect also. You can download whatever core you want in Retroarch, there are several for SNES, i personally use Higan or BsnesHD. The snes9x2010 core is actually a older core designed for older and therefore weaker hardware, the standard snes9x core is the most up to date one and is what you should use if you want to use a snes9x core over something more accurate.
  22. You cannot install steam games on a Nvidia shield, that runs Android and steam doesnt sell Android games. You could stream the games via the Steam app, but you would obviously need to have the game installed on a PC and the game would be running there fullscreen while streaming so the PC would not be usable while streaming. Then that answers your question, you can NOT format it on the shield as internal storage because as i said it will only work on that device if you do, your PC simply will not read the drive.
  23. If you format it as internal storage on the shield it will only ever work on that specific shield device. The whole drive will be encrypted and the only way to use it anywhere else would be to format it. You mention steam games so im assuming you also want to use the drive on PC, so you cant format it as Shield internal storage if you want to do that.
