  1. Thank you @Retro808 always on hand to help me, especially with things I know nothing about.
  2. @Retro808, @MeanGreene13, All issues welcome.
  3. Good sleuthing there as always @Retro808,if you feel there is a bug there feel free to post in the beta thread so Jason see's it, I'm not a marquee user so I don't no exactly what is happening, but Jason has a arcade with marquee I believe.
  4. Glad I could help in a thread I had no business being in.
  5. If it works, but it should.
  6. you could always copy images from one folder to another, so copy paste clear logos to the marquee folders, not ideal but worth a punt.
  7. Hmm you are quite right, there should probably be a Marquee option there also, @Jason Carr any thoughts on this?
  8. I don't use marquees, so take this with a pinch of salt, but have you tried putting them in the theme you are actually using's folder? Images in the theme folder are loaded as a priority over the images in the default folders, (this allows you to have different images and videos for different themes) might be worth a look.
  9. I guess i'm lucky that none of the systems I emulate need to use mess.
  10. As to the Retroarch MAME I always had little niggling issues with it with regards to controls (but I'm in the minority there), so I stick to the standalone. I personally use Retroarch for everything except, Dolphin, MAME, Demul, and PCSX2. Those last 2 are not in Retroarch period so you have to use the standalones there. MAME is a personal preference thing, and Dolphin is superior as a standalone. If the PPSSPP Retroarch "has" been updated that may be OK also, I know there was talk of bringing it inline with the standalone, but I haven't used it since then.
  11. Yep, the more 3D box's in the database the better, I downloaded these from the download section and love them, so it would be great for users to not have to go that extra step and come here and download a big pack, that may have a lot of boxes they don't need. I try to use 3D boxes whenever I can. @Robin55 are you a member over at emumovies? You could also upload them there if so, they will allow bulk uploads I believe. The more sources the better.
  12. I think he has a patreon for videos and a website if its who I think it is. It is here are some links. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeP60Vc-kRYCiJ1y2PvxryA http://retrohumanoid.weebly.com/ https://www.patreon.com/user?u=4979748
  13. We actually recommend either non-merged or split sets, the merged can mess with the importer and you may find a lot of missing games with that set. I personally have a non-merged set, it takes up more space but every game has all the files needed in it's own zip.
  14. I'll be honest and say i have never used the additional apps feature, so i'm not quite sure how it works, but that sounds about right.
  15. Hi and welcome to the community. PPSSPP and Dolphin are better standalone off the top of my head.
  16. Unfortunately not, that's beyond my expertise i'm afraid. Hopefully someone else can chime in and offer you some advice there.
  17. Correct, and it is updated daily, so if you edit a game or add one the metadata will say it needs updating and will pull down the most recent version.
  18. The metadata.xml is in your Launchbox/Metadata folder.
  19. Yeah, for Android. Not really needed for the Windows only Launchbox.
  20. In the second image i posted of Mario 3 you can see the achievement list opened in the RAnes emulator, it shows all the achievements for the game and whether or not any are unlocked and it has a "Game ID" of 1995, which i'm assuming is supplied to the api in order to identify the loaded game and to parse the achievements for it. However when the same Mario 3 rom is launched from Launchbox using the same emulator the achievement list is not populated at all, (as you can see in my first image above) so it looks like to my non coding brain that when a game is loaded to the emulator through command line rather than opened directly from the emulator that the rom being loaded is not ID'd by the emulator, therefore nothing is passed to the api, therefore you cant view the achievements for games if they are launched from Launchbox, and by extension i'm betting achievements won't unlock period if that list is not populated, essentially rendering using Achievements in the standalone emulators useless when launching them from Launchbox. This all works just fine in Retroarch so i'm guessing they handle it differently there. So it looks to me like you "have" to use Retroarch for the achievements at the moment, as they simply do not populate in the standalone emulators when launched from Launchbox. I honestly do not know if this is a emulator or api issue, that's above my pay grade unfortunately.
  21. Just download the list make sure Launchbox is closed and drop it into your Launchbox/Data/Playlists folder and it will be there when you re-open Launchbox.
  22. Are you sure its not asking you to extract MAME itself? it comes as a self extracting zip often.
  23. Most of the videos here are .264 mp4's so i would suggest that. As for bitrate the higher the better without it being a hugely insane file size, especially if it has a lot of motion in it. A higher bitrate will eliminate macroblocking in the file, but will result in a longer render time and a bigger final file size.
