My Arcade Build: Big Box & Virtual Reality
DOS76 replied to Hoakypoaky's topic in Collections and Builds
1 video snaps are short videos of the game 2 Extras are all different type of artwork and sample dat files stuff that can be used in MAME if you are using the built in UI or bezels if you already have artwork for MAME in LB then some of it is kinda redundant. 3 Rollback roms I believe are for rolling your set back to the previous version for whatever reason you may want to do so. I've never used them myself. 4 If you have a full set you have these already. 5 They are dat files I don't really have a great understanding on what to do with them 6 These are something you would want to have if you had a stand alone version of MESS but weren't using MAME all the files in here are also included in MAME 7 These are ROMs for all the consoles that MAME supports to some various degree these is what the MESS side of MAME uses for ROMs, They are named with MAME conventions and LB doesn't recognize the naming for them. -
technically the 4th post was gravy the 3rd one had him banned

Look I don't know you at all and no one wants any issues with anyone here but people don't talk to each other like that here and those that do find that they aren't welcome here long so if you want to belong to the community here then that's cool but if you want to be a dick I guarantee you end up getting tossed.

from the additional app form when you hit browse and it opens a file explorer window but it doesn't show your game go to the drop down in the bottom right of the form and select all files and it should show.

no the chd's only come merged or at least that is the only format I've seen them come in. -
Let us know if it worked in case others ask.

Thanks to @CharcoI just discovered this gem of a video the guy releases them each month and they might make it easier to update your MAME games each month (assuming you bother to update them). I subscribed and asked him if in the future he could include the zip names along with the game names so hopefully that will happen if you are interested in keeping your set updated in LB check it out. He has video going back to 0.169 but LB uses 0.174 or 0.175

I turned it on for Gangster Town for SMS and the cross hairs aren't lined up with where it shoots so pretty unplayable with a mouse -

nice I played PS! the other day and I had to change the device index to get my controller to work thought it was something I did

Windows 10 is actually said to be the best platform to run LB/BB on to back up your LB install you really just need your images , manuals, music, videos backups and data folder (or all your folders to be safe).

I don't know what would make it auto generate now that you removed them I don't think it will come back. I do know that when you import your arcade games now there is a checkbox to turn off the auto generation so have you added any new games to MAME lately.

The horizontal and vertical views do not change! :(
DOS76 replied to JULIOVAL77's topic in Troubleshooting
email support@unbrokensoftware.com and tell them your issue there you can get official support from the dev if no one answered your question its because no one know how to fix your issue maybe if you explain it to the support people they can get you up and running. -
you can uncheck the include in platform checkbox when you edit them and you will only see them when you switch from platform to playlist but no sub folders categories yet
-
Those should just be auto generated playlist all you games should still be in your Arcade platform and all those playlist just use your existing media and roms so the only extra disk space is the xml that says they are in there to get rid of them right click one and edit it.
-
I don't know if this effects anyone else but when I download these they come in read only mode and that throws an error message from LB simply right clicking and unchecking the read only box fixes it but if its the case for everyone it should probably be stated in the info about the download for less savy users.

yeah this sort of sounds like a solicitation and should probably be removed

I don't think LB will behave in any different manner depending upon which set you get. -

merged will have puckman 1 rom inside of that will be every clone version split will have the parent rom puckman along with a separate archive for every clone but it will only contain the necessary files of the clone the rest will be used from the parent non merge will have the same thing as the split except that every clone will also contain all the files from the parent that it needs to work. -

that's actually the other way around non-merged is a 125GB and merged is the smallest set the full set has all the bios and roms it doesn't include the chd package that is separate. The nonmerged is the best if you want a curated set as its safe to remove roms since everything is self-contained if you are going to have the whole set though anyway then split is the better choice since it will all still work but take up less space on disk if you were just using MAME alone with no front end I would say just get the merged set as from the built in UI it is totally accessible but due to its limitations in LB split is currently the best option.
