I found a way to 'quick-fix' the issue. When I restore LaunchBox as a window (not maximized) and change the size of the details sidebar, then it will save that same position again later, including when it's maximized. However, it won't save the position when you simply change the size while LaunchBox is maximized.

This doesn't seem to be fixed, after I tested the latest beta today. Is there a setting/option I'm missing somewhere?

Oops! @Jason Carr I guess I may have spoken too soon. After a system reboot, the issue has come back again. I guess it wasn't (inadvertently) fixed after all. Oh well! Hope that you can get it done in one of the next beta updates

That's odd because now the details pane is saving and remembering its last position, as I've tested this a few times in a few different ways while closing or exiting from LaunchBox. Prior to this beta release, it was not saving at all. I guess you somehow inadvertently fixed this issue. Well done!

Video isn't working

This looks like an extremely useful program, considering the fact that you don't have to extract an entire ISO file, which would take up a lot of space and it slightly harder to organize. I've (also) yet to try RPCS3 but have been following its progress here and there. Just wondering, are there a lot of playable games now?

Good to know Not a major issue at all, but with that in mind, it would be nice to have a "Remember window size/position" in LaunchBox options

On the topic of betas, I'm not sure if this is just me but recently I've noticed that the details panel (on the right side) doesn't save its position when it closes. Whenever I return to open launchbox, the details panel returns to its default location and I have to reposition it again. As far as I remember, this position was saved from where the user (me) last left it, or was I just dreaming that?

Welcome back to the emulation scene! MAME is certainly the best option for arcade games of course, along with many of the more 'obscure' but decent systems that don't get much coverage and attention such as Bally Astrocade, Fairchild Channel F, along with many of the classic computer systems, most of which I've never heard of However, for most of your emulation needs, Retroarch is probably the best choice, and for the newer consoles (Dreamcast, Gamecube, PlayStation 2, etc.) stand-alone emulators (Dolphin, PCSX2, etc.) are the best way to go. Have fun!

Mixed feelings here. As some of the other members have mentioned, more time and resources should be focused on the windows version of LaunchBox, rather than anything else. However, I do play around with Linux from time to time, and understand that it would be extremely welcome from the large (and growing) community of Linux users out there. My "free" advice to you would be that if you have enough users contribute to kickstarter, then by all means, go for it!

Another idea/option is to use Kodi as your "main" program and from there you can launch netflix, launchbox, etc. as there are plugins available which will allow you to do so. Just an idea to consider

I'm still, really hoping for #1 and 2 on my (original) list Posted July 2, 2017 (edited) 1. The option to allow the selected title in the basic vertical rom list (BigBox) stay centered (instead of scrolling all the way down or up) 2. The ability to use custom box images (in bulk) for various platforms/systems when there are no images available. (instead of using the generic 'rubik's cube' bigbox image that appears in its place). I've mentioned this idea a few times before and it got a lot of positive feedback from other users.

It looks like I may have spoken a little too soon. The core was once again updated today, and the program-crashing 'bug' seems to have been taken care of and is working nicely now

Thanks a lot for passing on this information! Just wanted to add that this core seems to still be in the early stages of development or at least is still somewhat buggy. When I try to close/escape from a game (using the mesen core) the emulator always crashes for me, but this is not the case while using other cores. However i'm sure that the retroarch team will have these problems fixed soon
