  1. Hmm maybe I just never actually looked at every single one of my vids, but what i downloaded from the emumovies ftp for each system seems to be the right videos.
  2. Man that is the stuff I really hate. So now you have to go through and find the shaders again, re-apply them, and re-save them all?
  3. I used don's hyperlist, and then found some other program that copied the roms of the games from the xml list into a new folder or something like that. Then I deleted all the remaining games from the mame folder, and copied back only the ones that were from the curated don's hyperlist back into the mame folder. So for the last 3 years or so, since I went through all that work to get rid of the gigs of mahjong and fruit machine crap, I haven't updated roms because I never want to do that again lol. So my base set that I imported into launchbox initially was already curated. I think it would be good to get to that point and then just select those files from a regular import.
  4. Just make more playlists! haha. There's a bunch to be downloaded.
  5. According to red man and too short, you best not disrespect M.C. Hammer either. Apparently him and his crew are no joke. Saw their interviews on youtube.
  6. I just saw somewhere there is a doc called "murder in the front row" named after the book of the same name, documenting the early club metal scene in the bay area. I think it has interviews and stuff. It played at an independent theater nearby, but I missed the only night it was there.
  7. I just love the fact that you also call it a contact sheet. I remember making contact sheets in the darkroom.
  8. Right, I have no idea how to do any of that xaml stuff or whatever in order to build a fade, pause, or theme. But all I need to do in RL is put some images in a folder and turn the fade on. Of course, you have to have the emulator launching perfectly which may or may not take a bit of tinkering, but then after that it's literally just dragging images into the fade folder.
  9. Yeah and making my own fade screens over the weekend was a breeze. Literally just put a now loading transparent text image and a bunch of cool wallpapers in the correct folder and that was it. It's the little details in there that really set it apart like the per-game tweaks and stuff. I'm thinking of doing a little tutorial someday just to show that it isn't really that big of a monster to deal with.
  10. Wow,...i just looked up that thing... crazy. I'm willing to bet retroarch won't ever get it right. Retroarch won't even recognize my mayflash gamecube adapter and let me bind anything to those controllers.
  11. That's a great feature. I like starting up in platform category,...but i bet a lot of people would like to always go to a specific platform.
  12. Yup that's what i did with the turtles 2 player and 4 player. I just made a copy of my mame rom (since it was the merged one) renamed it to the turtles 2 player one, and then imported it and named it differently in launchbox. Works fine.

I'm still hesitant about risk of rain 2. The first ROR was and is one of my favorite games ever made, EVER. I couldn't believe how much fun I had playing it, and I loved the 2d style. I just don't know about the 3d world.

Yup, as far as I know, DOS uses standard saves in-game since it is just being ran on a virtual hard drive. So it would be just saving your game like normal.
  15. Yup. make a copy of that one because odds are you'll have to do the same thing again. I had to save a core override, and save a new config for each core I was setting up. Then at the end I took my copy of the config and replaced the messed up config with it so that when you started retroarch again on its own, it was a clean setup without anything leftover from the cores.
  16. yeah I would also assume the quick and easy way would be to delete/rename the old config and then start up RA, it should refresh with a new one.
  17. exactly!... damn. I might just use it because of that alone.
  18. That's the weird thing. That's the first option I turn off. Have been doing that since RA had a green text menu. For some reason it just wanted to randomly suck up the options from whatever core I was saving an override for. It was also random when it decided to do it. Eventually I just did save new config in addition to the override, for all the systems, and then put the copy of the retroarch.cfg that I saved when it was blank, and put that back in the directory.
  19. I know, even with the vast improvements, it can be a pain. I love it still, but when it ignores the core overrides and saves what i did to the main config anyways, and I have to go back and forth a bunch of times, that crap pisses me off. Hours later, got all configs actually saved on their own, and then cleared the main config which kept sucking things in from each override save, and then made a back up copy of it so that I could rename it to the default one once the new core was saved. It all works now for all systems I set up for it. I'm willing to bet that dolphin needs some of those visual C++ or whatever it is you mentioned before.
  20. I've noticed most people for some reason or another do not ever want to include their psds. Just the finished product. But for people that want to continue the work, or add their own to actually complete their set, this doesn't work well. Especially when a project looses steam and stops, or just needs a little tweak to be perfect for someone's setup.
  21. Well I have actually seen it mentioned a few times but yeah, guess you don't know what you don't know lol. But now hmmmm, might have to take a closer look. I do like the volume controls, that's interesting. Is that windows volume?
  22. Haha exactly! Well I've only ever imported, added themes and that's about it. Never have had a reason to delve into much past that.
  23. wow, that's awesome. I never knew about this. I don't need it yet (RL keymapping takes care of that for me) but it's nice to know that it is there.
  24. This is a nice set of bordered platform and playlist logos, if you like that style.
  25. True on the arcade front for sure.
