  1. I just updated everything, and then updated to the new cityhunter theme that is supposed to work with the new beta. One of my playlists is showing on the main platform line, even though the "show in platforms" is un-checked. I don't know if this is a themeing issue, or a bigbox issue. Just wondering if anyone might know how to stop that playlist from showing up in the mail platforms somehow.
  2. I like having them as separate platforms. I put all my hacks/homebrews together, for example: SNES Homebrew, NES Homebrew, Genesis Homebrew, etc. I know a lot of people further separate between homebrew and hacks,...but I consider it all homebrew since even a romhack was still "brewed" by someone or a team, on their own.
  3. Oh no, we can't loose this theme to any of the new updates that have happened. It's one of the best!
  4. yeah it looked pretty damn cool. Can you do two players with it on the same box? or would you need another blissbox plugged in also?
  5. I never understood how the blissbox could let you hot-swap (i think that's what it's called?) controllers and it would be able to stay mapped properly to the emulator? Could you explain a little how it works?
  6. Hey the more options the better. Even if they aren't exactly to the same specs as the original, I think you did damn good!
  7. ohhhh man. this theme and start up is going to be epic. Perfect styling. Love it!
  8. Wow, I think these are actually very cool. I'd love a pixel theme.
  9. Well community polls are a great tool, but just writing off something the majority of people may have never even thought of, or care about as nit picky is sort of silly. There are options for so many things, and orders, and priorities,...it seems fitting to have something for screenshot order for those who find other screens more appealing than the title screen. I myself don't even use them really, but I think it is reasonable even if it only get's 10 votes in a poll. Not everyone participates in a community poll either,...so that doesn't necessarily reflect an accurate account of users who might enjoy a feature. It's like running into a feature on a car that you might never have dreamed of because conventional manufacturing just never did it, or it wasn't popular enough to ever be considered. But man, if it applies to you and it is useful, it's a glorious moment. For example, hoods that flip up with the hinges on the front of the car, make it sooooo much easier to get in the engine bay, but it's only done for a limited time period on limited models for some reason. Or the fact that on 1971 toyota cars the radiator support unbolts completely from the car so that you can slide the engine straight out the front to replace it, without having to take the hood off.
  10. I really have to try to find the programs and method I used back in the hyperspin days. It did exactly what you needed to do. It made an xml, and then there was a program that compared the xml to the romdirectory, and then another one that deleted all that came back not matching. It left me with a much smaller directory, and no more mahjong, fruit machine, etc. laying around. i had to go back and clean up a few one by one when I noticed them showing up in the frontend (i noticed because it didn't have clear logos for them because I never made them). I have a merged set and nothing i've tried to play so far has ever come back not working. Of course, I haven't played the thousand plus collection in its entirety, but still quite a few, and none that i've ever wanted to play came back non-working.
  11. i think you are going to have to download the PSD files and try to add your own comics, mag, etc. artwork behind the text. I found that the text is gothambold iirc, and you can easily change both text layers to whatever you want. However, the shadow was custom made with what looks like different shapes behind the text. You can see it when you turn the text layer off. So I'd go for just a standard drop shadow and get it as close as you can. i did that when i added mobile to my platform list. Unless your really good with doing those shadows by hand.
  12. i could never get it to work, it was always a black screen with audio only.
  13. Well at least the startup screens might now cover up launching Dfend. I've been using rocketlauncher's fades for about 5 years now to cover up dfend, works great. Haven't messed with launchbox startup screens much yet though, but looks very promising, especially for systems like this. using just the configs is a good idea.
  14. i'm way outdated with this one, but I love d-fend reloaded. I know it's technically another layer between you and the games (it's sort of its own little frontend) but I just love using it.
  15. honestly I just love the on-screen, on the fly control mapping in mednafen standalone. Don't even have to go into a menu for anything, just the key command to bring it up and a few seconds later everything is re-mapped. Plus I've been using it for so long, i guess i'm just used to it as well.
  16. Personally, I love the standalone version of mednafen, so I use that for a lot of systems (NES, SNES, GENESIS, SATURN, and Virtual Boy) I even found out how to enable the built in crt shader for mednafen which isn't that bad. So my mednafen games look similar to others that I have in retroarch (sega cd, and a few others). For handhelds I use retroarch because of the awesome overlays that make it look like you are playing on the device. Dolphin for GC and wii, and MAME for arcade. Redream for dreamcast. d-fend for DOS. That pretty much takes care of it. So there are some folders in there, but it's by no means un-manageable.
  17. phew,...never even saw the themes down at the bottom of the page before. Dark is just nice and smooth.
  18. I just ended up moving the auto generated lists to a folder to get them out of there for the time being. It would be nice to get that option. I personally miss the filter days, and wish my filter sidebar would have gotten more traction but the plafform playlists are a very cool idea. I just wanted to differentiate between those and the ones I custom made. Thanks for the reply.
  19. While technically that wouldn't be the best solution because of all the reasons already listed throughout the thread, I would have no problems using this method. 90% of the time somebody is going to start the game and play it without switching games during the emulation. It would be accurate for most of us.
  20. I want my original like 15 playlists i made by hand to stay in the playlist section of bigbox. But the other auto generated genre playlists that were made for each platform is what I want OUT of the playlist section of bigbox, and only to be in their respective platform.
  21. Ok so I did some of the automatic platform playlists by genre when the feature came out recently. Today was the first time I've actually gone into bigbox since then, and when I hit my hotkey for playlists, now there are like 10 different copies of the "all games" playlist, and then all the other playlists from each of the platforms (adventure, role-playing, etc.). When I watched the tutorial video of how to set it up in launchbox, it looked like they were going to be under their platform only. So I was expecting the original playlists I made (pac-man, mario, zelda to name a few) to still be by themselves under the playlists platform in bigbox. Does anybody know how to get bigbox to have the playlist platform only have the playlists it used to before I made all the platform-specific ones in launchbox? Also, if I delete all the extra instances of the playlists in launchbox under "playlists", will that delete all the platform category child playlists as well? Or will that just delete them from the "standalone" playlists category?
