  1. Ok I think I get it better now. So it's the fact that you have that chip actually built-in. Is that something a lot of motherboards have now? Or can you add it via a slot? That sounds like a great way to take care of a lot of systems with some nice wireless action.
  2. Thanks for the explanation, but it went right over my head lol. I understand the concept of turning one off and then a different controller takes its place. I guess I just don't get how the emulator remembers that it is the NES controller now, for instance. Does the emulator remember at a bluetooth adapter level? so that whatever controller gets synced to that bluetooth adapter is going to be the player 1 mapping for any controller? since the physical bluetooth adapter is plugged into what the emulator remembers as slot 1? i know that with my wired stuff, if I unplug one of them, and then restart the computer, everything will be moved around since windows saw one missing and scooted a bunch around as a result, so the emulator mappings don't correspond to the original setup anymore, they correspond to whatever is plugged in its place now. Which could be some other controller. I guess I don't really get the relationship between emulators remembering which bluetooth adapter is in which slot, and how it applies its mappings to controllers that now take up that slot.
  3. Ok I've always wondered about people's bluetooth setups, and nobody has every confirmed. So let's say you map the controllers in an emulator right,...then when you turn another controller on doesn't it bump the first one out of the line in terms of windows joyid orders and you have to remap again to the one that is currently on?
  4. Where are the backgrounds for all the games coming from?
  5. No, I just never really played past the first year or so it was out. But I'm sure all that stuff is super cool. Maybe if I had more time I'd try to get back into it.
  6. I think it's so damn cool how long Doom has lasted. It's like subspace with the continuum version keeping it alive. It's truly amazing. For some reason I never got into doom 100%, but always thought it was cool nonetheless. Cool interview.
  7. O you can't just throw your bg images where you want them like you can with say box art? You'd have to have a theme edit?
  8. Oh yeah totally get that. All I'd really need is a folder to put my custom startup screen background art (not fan art), and the ability to not show the cart and other art on top of that BG. Oh and the ability to have a custom logo for now loading.
  9. are any of these worth playing? or can they be played without knowing japanese?
  10. Obviously still in the infancy stages, but this is so promising. I can't ditch my RL just yet thought, because the settings just aren't there yet. But i'm excited about it. The RL people should just fork over their code so LB can rise to power lol.
  11. I have actually been thinking that it would be way cool for a launchbox-like program with a graphic bookshelf and books (spine view to search/browse), to someday be used to browse actual library holdings. It would feel more interactive than the plain search that they have. When you selected the book based on search you'd see the spine graphic pop outward from the shelf of books and then if selected it would jump up to like the manual view in pdf with the book cover and you could open it. Then "slide" it back in with ESC, and either search again, or "scroll" the shelves manually to see what is there. The shelves would be a representation of what they physically have. If it's scanned then you could view it, but if it's not, then it would just be an info page view about it.
  12. Yes. I would enjoy fanart, but when there's a game that I don't like the fanart for, then I'd want to have my own custom backgrounds that I hand-pick. You can do this in RL by just renaming the file(s) and dropping them into the fade's game specific folder. It also randomly picks from the images when there are more than one. It's also fun to see which one will display when you launch it "this time".
  13. I'm sure generally speaking it is. Have never had any problem over the last 2 years with it so far, but guess there is a first for everything. fully them-able sounds awesome. I'm sure this will shape up to be a great feature.
  14. Yeah that's in this post,...but I had no idea when i clicked the update button and restarted the program. I wasn't in the forums then.
  15. Are there options to have just an image or a background image for the startup screen?
  16. I didn't know this was going to be turned on automatically. My game launched normally with rocketlauncher's fade, after the launchbox fade, and then the screen went black and I can hear my game in the background but I'm guessing it's launchbox that won't' let me do anything. Had to hit esc and get out to turn it off so I can check out if there are any options for it.
  17. Yes. I would never assume responsibility upon jason for save key input. That's insane! lol.
  18. Entering the save state info is a pain, but I've only had to do it once. I've done it for my mednafen systems, retroarch systems, and mame systems. It took a while, but have only had to set it one time for all the different systems. You fill out a table associated with that system's emulator like this: {F5 down}{F5 up}{1 down}{1 up} to save, then {F7 down}{F7 up}{1 down}{1 up} to load. So the pause menu sends those key commands to the emulator for you with time settings, delay, etc. It works frickin' great, and i love not having to try to remember all the different save and load keys for emulators.
  19. Oh yeah, this can be kind of fun. I had a DOS startup and disk sound back in my HS days,...it was fun to listen to when I went into that system.
  20. Oh yeah this reminds me that it can help quite a bit on some PC games, especially if it doesn't look like it is starting but really is, sometimes people keep hitting enter, or other keys and mess everything up because a certain game might take longer than usual. Having a fade screen to mask that would help them to know that it's really working and just wait. Also, it's nice to have fade on my MS-DOS games so that I don't have to see d-fend and dosbox start up. It takes exclusive full screen once it gets there, but still nice to not see all the little windows starting up on the way there.
  21. How important is it to you for the startup screen to fade into the game? There are a few systems where my fades work great and cover things up all the way to the game loading screen. Since I use mednafen standalone, NES, Super Nintendo, Saturn, and a few others, all get covered up by the fade until the game intro logos start. It is important, but it's not the end of the world if it doesn't fade over all the way. Retroarch interrupts my fade after about 6 seconds and it ends abruptly with a slight blip and then it's fullscreen with the overlay enabled and the emulator starts from scratch so to speak. It's acceptable in order to have certain systems working. I still really enjoy the fades. They are just fun to see, especially when you have game specific artwork. It just makes it feel that much more immersive. Someday maybe there could even be game specific fade screen sets (emumovies?) that would auto-download when importing a game, just like fanart or screenshots. How important is it to you to use bezels? Are they worth the performance sacrifice to you? Very important to me. Because I only really use Retroarch for handhelds and like 2 other systems, I can't use their overlays for everything, so having rocketlauncher provide bezels for the rest of the systems keeps the entire setup looking consistent. Yes they are worth the performance sacrifice because it is usually negligible, and I'm sure it won't be an issue forever, as emulators and computers just keep getting better and more powerful. I'm still on my 7 year old computer, and I only have trouble with running 1 or 2 very taxing emulators. As I've said in threads before, literally the only reason I'm still using Rocketlauncher is because of the launching options: FADE, BEZEL, and KEYMAPPER. That is literally it. What features are you most looking for with startup screens? I enjoy the info that is up there on both top corners of the screen. The "now loading" artwork is fun to watch come up,...or whatever custom image you put in there for that. What features are you most looking for with pause screens? I personally only use PAUSE for the autohotkey save game and load game setup, and viewing manuals. Although the ability to check out a moves list that is auto-populated instead of manually created might be nice to have as well. Oh I guess having the game details copied over into that screen would be nice.
  22. Is there currently such a thing? I'd love to have the ability to maybe utilize a platform specific theme for certain platforms. Personally, the arcade platform which I made my clear logos for from the old HS days. It may be at least nice to have the capability to have a cool background image for a certain platform. This is the theme I would really love to have certain aspects adapted to LB: https://hyperspin-fe.com/forums/topic/14422-arcade-planet/?page=14 I'm sure some theme creator could make a killer theme inspired from it.
  23. I have lost count of the times I've accidentally clicked delete instead of edit when I wanted to edit a game's details. Since it's such a frequently used option, perhaps moving delete down one, and refresh all images up one would help. That way if you accidentally go one click down farther, all you do is refresh your images real quick.
  24. Yeah great idea. there should be a setting to "wait for gameplay video to end" or to not wait for it. Sometimes it is fun just to watch some random gameplay for a while.
