I'm using more and more the Next version. I love the simplicity and the improved performance. Can't wait to have it fully featured. Jason, can you quickly tell us what's next to be implemented?
-
If it doesn't work in RA standalone it's probably an issue with the game file. Redump your disc or try another version.

Cool Stuff! I like it a lot! I like the fade transition of the background, does it use the same cache? Also, nice touch adding the developer below the name, Can you add release year too? something like "1985 · Nintendo" I'd be cool if that could be fully customized but it's too early for demands anyway. I agree.

theme CriticalZone / CriticalZone - BlueBox

Is it possible to make the game menu window to only show video snaps and never videothemes? Since the video space in the game menu is so small, when showing video themes there, I find the gameplay part of the theme it's too small. I Think it would look much better if it just shows a videosnap instead of a super small videotheme.- 48 comments

That's because LaunchBox can download media from two different sources: The LaunchBox Games Database and Emumovies, if the images are not identical in size and dimensions, LaunchBox will download and save both version of a particular media (boxes, logos, etc). To avoid this, make sure you just thick only one source for any particular media when you import or download media and metadata. I personally prefer to download from Launchbox for most things other than screenshots. The ones in Emumovies use native resolution and are usually smaller in size and dimensions.

Great idea of using the handheld screens as the menu list. Love them!

Damn, that's most of the cool shaders I use. I guess we'll have to wait until everyone jumps in in the Slang boat.

Does cg shaders work with the new DirectX driver? Anyone tried them?

You can contribute to the database by going to gamesdb.launchbox-app.com, create an account there if you don't have one yet, search for a game and edit its data, then wait for the moderators to approve your changes (you need 1 approval from 3 different moderators for your changes to be merged into the database). You can also moderate other people contributions by going to gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/moderation. Just make sure you follow the rules.

Not sure what can we do with that info but I'd like to have as much info as possible for any game so yeah, I won't mind to have that. In the meantime, I guess that you can add that info via custom fields.

Damn, that was fast. I'll take a look. thanks, @faeran!

I was thinking of the Gamecube 2 version. But it could also be done with the N64 and the SNES, you just need to remove the clear logo since video themes already have them. You are the expert, I leave it to you to figure out.

Love those themes! Can you make a variation with only the ESRB icon and the Nintendo Seal of quality? That's for using video themes.

Vote on LaunchBox Upcoming Features - February/March 2018

I guess @Jason Carr could relative easily add a "Other games from the Series" option in the play menu that creates a custom filter with all the games within the same series tag. -
Vote on LaunchBox Upcoming Features - February/March 2018
Suhrvivor replied to Lordmonkus's topic in News and Updates
Voted. My favorite of them would be built in mouse cursor hider and the rotating CD thing. They don't seem to be too hard to implement. As for the Rocketlauncheresque features, I don't care much about them, I have a fully functional RL and I don't use most of its features. I'm in the same boat, One of the thing that makes me love Launchbox it's that it doesn't needs a lot of additional apps, it's (almost) all in one. I don't think RL is updating anymore, I haven't seen the popup window in RLUI for months now. -
I use custom command lines for games that I want to use a different core. Just right click the game you want to change and select edit, then in the emulation tab select Retroarch as the emulator and finally, put the appropriate command line to use the core you want, Here's an example of what I use for Turok 2: For Mupen64plus copy and paste the following: -L "cores\mupen64plus_libretro.dll" For Parallel: -L "cores\parallel_n64_libretro.dll" We're stuck to fiddling with settings for N64 games until someone makes an 100% accurate emulator. Don't hold your breath until then.

Use the ParaLLEl core for N64, it has better compatibility for most games (other than Acclaim titles, use Mupen for those).

Moderator Guidelines and Contributor Rules
Suhrvivor replied to Jason Carr's topic in News and Updates
When submitting or moderating screenshots. are official screenshots allowed? Most of the time they are somewhat deceiving because they're heavily edited and don't show the actual HUD you see when you play. Not really a accurate representation of the game. -
Just like deleting ROMs, removing additional stuff should be optional when deleting games, I agree.
-
I would definitely love that deleting a game would actually delete all related stuff of that title, not just images androms but also videos, music, manuals, etc. For MAME games, artwork, nvram, config files, etc. I'm currenlty cleaning up my collection and removing all files for any game takes me a lot of time.

Damn, those shaders are amazing. Even better than the ones in the Analog Pack. And I was happy with just using some of the crappy NTSC default ones. I'm mostly using Night City and Neuromancer, those are my favorites. Keep up the good work, Zomb!

Converting Hyperspin Video Themes to Launchbox Video Themes
Suhrvivor replied to treylasalle's topic in Troubleshooting
As far as I know, the only way to convert them is to load them into Hyperspin, record the theme with a screen capture software, then edit it and encode it into mp4.
