Not natively in LB. Possible with a plugin. LB does not know "what's new" as the Mame.xaml it reads to get the playable games list does not log what changes there are per Mame version.

Could you possibly go through the import process and provide screen shots of each step to see if we notice something wrong or perhaps video capture the process.

I removed your post in the Beta Thread asking about this. It was removed for 2 reasons. 1. It is not beta testing related and 2. We request members do not post the same question in multiple locations. If you did not get an answer after a few days feel free just to bump the original post. Our forum is somewhat small when it comes to the user base that actually responds. So sometimes it takes a while to get an answer. Unfortunately I cannot as I have coded in VS to build themes but do not know enough to answer this question. Hopefully one of our Devs or more savy VS users will respond.

Well you asked if LB could run Pac-man so if you knew how it works you know LB does not run games. So I was just clarifying as many users assume LB runs the games. I was merely responding to your exact question. How did you import your Mame roms? Full set importer or just a single game or selected games? As mentioned Pac-man is a clone so depending on how you are importing there are a couple ways to ensure Pac-man is imported. Such as selected North America for the region option.

LB does not run games, emulators do. So it will import anything you ask it to. LB simply sends the command line to tell the emulator what game to run. LB recognizes the game fine. It knows Pac-man is a clone of Puckmann so it is likely listed as an additional app in Puckman especially if you used the full rom set port option.

The pop-out feature is only for LB themes not BB themes. So that could not be added to this theme. Not much has changed when it comes to coding a theme so to add the new pop-out feature to a LB theme you would just need to ensure the lines of code are added in.

Go to the \updates folder. Every version you have installed in the past is there. Pick the most recent version and run it. Mind Cbeats words and make sure it installs to the right folder \Launchbox and not \Launchbox\Launchbox

What theme are you using and does it do it in other themes? -
With a setting in BB that is built in, No. Not 100% sure, but it may be possible with a user created plugin.

Set default wheel view.
Retro808 replied to Modernfx's topic in Third-Party Applications and Plugins (Released)
BB has theme specific overrides. So it is likely for your theme there is an override set and it is setting the theme to text. Look in your custom themes folder in LB and see if a BigBoxSettingsOverride.xaml file is present. If so if you open it that file will show you what view it is defaulting to. -
Set default wheel view.

It is a setting in BB. Each user can set the platform view type (wheel, text, etc.) so it is not something you code into the theme. -
Huge Mame Marquee Collection including many in 4K resolution
Retro808 replied to Mr. RetroLust's topic in Game Media
That is what I have been advising you. See my prior post (my first post even stated the same thing) where I advised LB is matching the actual rom you have in that field to the image file name. Since it imported tmht22pe that means when you were choosing options in the Mame full set importer when it asked if you prefer "4-player" or "2-player" version you selected "2-player". If you selected "4-player" LB would have imported tmnt2.zip. -

Can you right click and edit TMNT2 in LB and share a pic of the Launching tab. -

Retro808 replied to Mr. RetroLust's topic in Game Media
It has nothing to do with your actual mame set. It is related to what you have imported as your primary or rather "default" rom in LB. In LB right click and edit your Final Fight game. Go to the launching tab and see what rom name is in the rom file cell. If it is not ffight.zip rename the marquee image whatever the rom name is. LB is matching that name to the image name. LB does not care what the inside of your rom folder or what is in the rom set zips. It cares only about what is showing in your LB game metadata. -

Is ffight.zip the rom you imported and are using? LB will match the image to either the game name as you have it imported in LB or the rom name for the rom you imported. Edit the game in LB and look in the launching tab. If it shows you imported say ffighta.zip LB and the image file name is ffight.png LB is not going to link it. The imported rom name has to match the image. -
Not sure what gray boxes you are talking about. The game box art I assume? Also are you talking about in LB or BB? Might be helpful to see a pic of what you are talking about.

Gald you got it working. Keep in mind Rlad's steps was through editing the game. Best recourse is to edit the platform and assign the manual folder path there. This way it covers all games. Editing the platform allows you to change the default folder path for a bunch of media for the platform in case you want to use a folder different than the LB assigned default.
-
What is the actual name of the platform you have them imported into? You cannot just use a random platform name in the folder structure. It has to be placed in a folder name of the actual platform your games are imported to. As I mentioned it has nothing to do with the game's path. LB is looking in the default manuals folder location. As Rlad showed you can just edit a game to find the exact folder path you need to drop them into.

I do not think the user uploaded anything just shared an image of what was done. User did say if anyone wants to code or images the user was happy to upload. So I would say send that user a message directly.

I believe it goes off the setting in LB. However, keep in mind the theme you are using can override that setting based on how the creator coded the theme.

Manuals just need to be named as the game is named in LB and placed in the appropriate folder. LB does not link the manual to the game file it links it to the game name inside LB. So it does not matter where you have the roms stored. I have them all showing for my LaserDisc games using Singe. \LaunchBox\Manuals\[Platfom Name]\ FYI if you convert that .txt file to a .pdf LB/BB will show the manual in the Pause Theme if you use them.
