Can you try what the other user posted in his video and report. The best thing to do when you have issues is just report it, provide any errors you get, advise of exact steps, and provide any system specs. We have only 2 devs and they typically are not on over the weekend. A little patience goes a long way. We know you purchased the program and expect it to work, so do the devs, but being crass in your posts is not helpful. In @marcel_knotter video I see he is using a translated version of LB. Perhaps something going on related to that. @tshear are you using a translated language version?
-
Yes, you can change the media folder location for LB platforms. Right click a platform and edit it in LB. Under the folders path you can change the location. I would also say look at your \Updates. In the \Updates folder LB keeps a copy of the installer for all prior version you downloaded. Depending on how long you have been using/updating LB that can easily be several GB of data.

It's not a version thing. It is quite simply how LB works. LB can link an image that is named either as the rom file is named or as the game is named. Since your Contra images are named Contra-01.png for the original Contra game and the rom file (well we know the TP game is not a rom file) that you imported for Contra: Evolution is contra.xml the LB logic is telling it to also link images named contra to Contra: Evolution games. Just one of those very, very rare instances this logic can create a disconnect. Contra: Evolution - imported file name "contra.xaml" Contra (arcade game) - downloaded image named "contra.png" or even "contra-01.png" LB is comparing both the game's actual name and the file name of the game to see if any images match either name and that is why it is linking them.

Currently no. Any game hidden in a platform will be hidden in a playlist. Are these games in a platform with non-lightgun games? Reason I ask is in LB you can edit a platform and check the box for "Hide in BigBox". This will hide the platform itself in BB but the games from the platform will still show in Playlists inside BB. Of course, this will not help you if the Sinden and Gun4IR games are in a platform with non-lightgun games.

If the games are imported into your LB and show 1) Different Names and 2) are linked to different LBDB ID #'s then when LB downloads the media it should name the images for each game exactly as the game names appear in your LB. So for example take Box - Front image, LB should name each Contra-01.jpg and Contra_Evolution-01.jpg. To be honest with a version of LB that old I do not recall how LB named images. I know current LB (well its been this way for years) can match an image that is named either after the game's exact name or after the rom name. What does the name of the image file for one of the games look like?

If you search the forum "ScummVM" you should find easily a 3rd party app that might be useful. Its called EpicFail. I do not mess with these games so not sure if that is what you will need but found that via search pretty quickly and looks like thread has videos and talks about what to import and how to set things up. So seems like what you need.

Is there a theme where the video takes up most of the screen?
Retro808 replied to Hamburglin's topic in Features
There are not a ton out there. You have to make your own, Google search, or check our downloads section. Personally I avoid them. For me they became to distracting and you end up with mix-matched media since there are not even complete platform collections of video marquees. Just one of the "its cool for a while" things like LED buttons for me. Both those things got old fast. -

That image is just a marquee image made up of several panel to make it one marquee. BB default marquee view will play a marquee video first, then in absence of a video use the image you have in the \Marquee folder, if no image there it will show a Fanart - Background with the games Clear Logo over top. -

That whole image looks like a marquee image. The Unified theme is using BB default marquee media logic. I would say look inside your \Images\Sega Genesis\Marquee folder. The full image you see on your marquee is likely in that folder. -

Keep in mind if not all platforms look the same you might have the option set to allow different views per platform (BB >Settings >Options >Views). The option mentioned is there. So this could allow you to say use different themes per platform as well. -

Themes can have multiple views. So if you find a theme you like make sure you bind a key or button the "Change View" in BB and when inside the theme if you hit that key/button it will change the view real time. Then you can see if the theme has a fullscreen video view. As C-beats mentioned the Unified themes do (I believe it is View 4). You will just have to look through our downloads section. If the theme creator did a good job of detailing the theme it should show what views it has in the description. . There are few others. I know Faeren's Tilt them shows video on roughly a little over half the screen. -
What are the options you have checked in the Startup settings in LB for dolphin (in LB >Tools >Manage Emulators, Select Dolphin and share a pic of what you have checked in the Startup screen tab). What other emulators you having issues with? Are all you Windows updates done and video drivers up to date? We have seen out of date drivers cause issues. Not sure what to expect to be fixed in next version as Startups work fine with Dolphin and has for years so nothing to really be fixed.

Is the image file name tue exact name you have your platform name in BB? They have to match.
-
LB or BB? The Default theme’s in either should show those fields in the Game Details section if you have those fields checked in your settings. Just an FYI you can never edit the theme coding if the Default themes for LB or BB. You have to copy the theme folder snd rename it. Then you can code edit that theme.

Edit Launchbox new default theme? It's possible?
Retro808 replied to Fabricio's topic in Troubleshooting
Yeah, the check boxes you reference are for metadata that would show up in the text details portion. Those new little windows I believe are a completely different line of code and would need to be manually edited. -
Edit Launchbox new default theme? It's possible?
Retro808 replied to Fabricio's topic in Troubleshooting
You cannot edit any LB or BB Default themes. Any changes directly to their coding will revert back to stock to ensure it is always a working theme. You can copy the Default theme folder and rename it. Then you can edit that newly named version of the Default theme. -

That theme does not use the FlowVideo control so you would not be able to just change the field that was mentioned. That theme was made using the CTC and the creator uploaded the CTC theme files you can use to open inside the Theme Creator and edit the theme that way. I have not messed with the CTC in a long time so I honestly cannot say if this can even be done directly in that tool. Your best option would be post in that theme's support thread and ask the creator for assistance. That can be one of the hurdles with the devs putting in options for things like this. Custom themes can override these options.
-
Keep in mind what JoeViking mentioned would be dependent on how recently the theme was created. Older themes will likely not be using the new FlowVideo controls. As well, some themes made with the CTC do not use the FlowVideo binding. So you would have to recode the video element portion of a theme if it does not use the newer controls. What theme are you trying to edit?

Retro808 replied to 4lexKidd's topic in Troubleshooting
Not much status we can provide. Our devs got the information from the RA discord like everyone else. So best thing to do is follow their discord for the best up-to-date status.- 11 replies
