  1. One of the views on CriticalZone, or City Hunter the alternate, I want to say is pretty much a fullscreen video, with some info in the corner. As far as keeping all the same info with a much bigger video, some of the other views have bigger video, but I don't know if it's exactly what you're looking for.
  2. That's good to know. I don't let Steam handle my controllers, so my first thought wasn't to go there.
  3. Yea, there are some options in a games properties compatibility panel, but not necessarily these specific ones. Furthermore, I don't think a lot of this is default command line parameters, unless the game devs made them work. There are some basic ones that work across all programs, but devs can change or disable them. It's possible that the software may run over a network too. I haven't inspected it, but if it's just loading config files, as long as it's looking in the right location or is portable, would that work?
  4. For feature requests, and even bug reports, using the Issues/Requests button at the top is the best way. If you could make a quick check for feature requests, it may already exist. If it does, vote on the existing one first. If you can't find it or it doesn't exist, feel free to make a new one. Anyways, thank you for finding out some more info. I'm sorry if it seemed like we're trying to avoid blame. It's just hard with modern PC's and all manner of setups. I'm sure Jason will appreciate the information, and I hope it helps him figure this out.
  5. What's so funny? It's just Alf! I didn't know there was an Alf adventure game actually. No surprise really.
  6. I'll tag @Jason Carr. He might have more insight, but I am running low on suggestions.
  7. That seems odd. It sounds like the platform XML isn't saving. Without re-importing games, delete the games then restart LB. Are they still there?
  8. No, you wouldn't call those a Windows game, but that's not the same argument. Those are homebrews and unlicensed games dumped. This is very different. Sure, it's using emulation, but they've now been officially released by the rights holders somewhere for a system that's not the original one. Even games on PS3 and PS4 that use emulation, they say where they are from, but are considered PS3 / PS4 games because that's the console those packages are released on. All those emulation anthology packs, Disney Afternoon Collection, Mega Man Collection, all games from a different system, but that package is now called a PC, PS4, what have you game. I don't see why it's any different in this case. Sure, the games on GOG are dos games, but they've now officially been released on Windows. If someone released those games on a console, even if it's using DOSBox, it's now a what ever system game, right?
  9. A PS4 controller needs InputMapper or equivalent ideally (DS4 Windows is outdated). Steam is the only program that detects it really, by default, but the PS4 controller really needs the extra help ideally. The buttons ID's can be very off from what the PS4 controller expects, and whats there. It's kind of hard to explain. If it's still doing that after you install InputMapper, then I would look at Controller Automation and see if it's mapped properly. You might have the close game button on start. If it's not set to start, the ID's being different might still be at play, which is why I think to look there first. It may be set up on normal buttons otherwise, but to the PS4 that's the start button. With it installed, you might see two devices, but that's normal. Set programs to use the new device name. You might need to tell windows to default using the new one too.
  10. This shouldn't be happening, obviously. I can't exactly pin point whats going on, but removing the games for that platform, and manually deleting your cache to start completely fresh might help. I was also going to suggest deleting the images too, but that would be a last resort, as you'd then have to download everything again.
  11. Unfortunately, this would all be driven by your connection, the total speed and your location to our US based servers. A computer restart or a network restart might help get a better connection, but there isn't too much we could do.
  12. I don't know. No one's tried it, or if they did, no one's told me about it.
  13. That sounds right, so it's not a bug. I don't know if there's a BitBucket ticket to request this change, but feel free to add it. In the mean time, a good workaround is to go in to the Big Box main menu, or (if this hasn't changed), open up a games details screen.
  14. A decent Windows spec machine beats out a Pi any day of the week.
  15. No, it does. If you have a command line set for a game, or on the first tab of the Edit Emulator screen, then you'd be sending multiples. If you have no other command line other than on the Associated Platform page, or just on the first emulator tab, or just on a game, it only sends exactly that once.
  16. Ah, hmm. If that's the case, then the sources are perfectly fine. I would be leaning towards some oddity in the command line. This is something that I can't explain though.
  17. That is very strange. I thought resolutions or monitor, but those were shots in the dark. I don't think Big Box cares if your second monitor is not the same aspect ratio...
  18. Yep, that was gonna be my suggestion.
  19. Do you have a split set? I wonder if this is just a simple oversight, or an error with split (I'm leaning towards the oversight).
  20. The AHK script should have worked, so I am confused there too. When I tested things, I pressed my controller automation buttons again on that screen and it closed fully. Sure, you have to press them twice, but it's much better than having to close it with your mouse.
  21. A lot of what you talked about has been talked about elsewhere, and there are tickets on some of these features already (like the next and previous buttons in the edit screen). The BitBucket is the best place to submit these to keep them in order for @Jason Carr, and people can vote on them. The Audit tool I know Jason does want to upgrade in the future specifically. As for the images, we're actually looking to add more image types, as some of the Reconstructed or Fan Art fields should be applied to more types of images; that's something @Vlansix will need to cover first on the Database though. The EmuMovies download screen does have a Deselect or Select All button on it. The feature to upload from LB has been one of the most heavily talked features, we just came across some issues that we couldn't think of at the time to fix. Underwood had a more limited resource pool to do his job, and thus he actually solved the problems for us by thinking to route through the database UI. We didn't think of that. Granted, we could make it easier, but then that opens it up to abuse. I couldn't comment on whether or not that will be included. I think the code is very different for plugins and the application though, so it's not as simple as dropping it in.
  22. Since then, Big Box has had a 4:3 theme created for it, so that might help a ton. However, too low resolution of a screen and I'm not sure there will be too much that we can do with the scaling going down that far. Try the theme in our downloads section first and see if that helps.
  23. I let it update and it didn't effect me one bit though. It's only effecting some people. I wont say that it's not us exclusively, there's always that possibility, and you know me Cleverest, but it's been PROVEN that the Creators Update screwed up things for a number of people around here. I have no clue if re-installing the dependencies like in that thread I linked will solve anything, but it's all I have to go on. It's worked for someone else in a similar situation. For as many people as the update messed up, it didn't effect just as many, so I honestly don't know whats up.
  24. You can grab the media from EmuMovies for free, it's only Premium that is required to grab video from them (both premiums). As for MAME needing to know where your mame roms are, this has nothing to do with LaunchBox, this is a MAME thing. You must tell it where all of your roms are because of the parent and child rom relationship. If if doesn't know where everything is, it can't operate properly. I also see that no ones mentioned that a MAME Merged Rom set can also make things more difficult. It needs to be split or non-merged for the best results. LaunchBox is much easier than any other front end, things get complicated the more complicated an emulator is, MESS, RetroArch and a few other emulators have somewhat of a learning curve. As long as you put your MAME split or non-merged rom set and your MAME CHD pack in the MAME/roms folder, then import that using the MAME importer, you're done. It downloads all the available images from the LB Games Database, and if you have an emu movies account, you need to log in and it grabs from there. We also have a ton of tutorials. I suggest watching the MAME tutorial. It's a bit older, so replace the version numbers with the latest MAME release, and ignore information about certain things, like Lightspeed for example. It's very outdated and isn't updated much at all. You could also watch the EmuMovies tutorial as well if you need more help in that realm.
