LaunchBox is not a game its a way of life

Great job @Jason Carr on the addition of the PDF Viewer. I have been using Rocketlauncher successfully for viewing my pdf manuals in the Pause menu. All my pdf manuals are in folders named after the rom name. Would it be too difficult to add a feature of searching in folders named after the rom name? In this folder I also have walkthroughs for some games in pdf format as well. If not thats fine but it would be cool if I could view and navigate them in BigBox as well.

Really like the addition of scanlines to that one view...looks great! One idea for another view would be to switch out the game screenshot images with box and cart images and maybe have the game description scrolling underneath those 2 images.

One very simple way to do it would be to choose the option from the Tools menu inside LaunchBox "Create Missing Arcade/MAME playlist" and it will create a seperate playlist for each one of those platforms and more you mentioned up above. You can even choose if you want those playlist in your platform list.

@Styphelus Great...glad it worked out for you.

@Styphelus I was getting something similar to that a few weeks ago and I cured it by adding an exception to Rocketlauncher in Windows Defender. Also make sure you do not have the game loading screen enabled in BigBox as this also interferes with Rocketlauncher starting correctly.

Also if you have all your roms named after the Hyperspin naming convention, instead of downloading your images and videos from the games database, you can download a program on EmuMovies called EmuMovies Sync and it will download everything after your rom name from EmuMovies if you have an account there. Although with this method you will not be able to get the images off of the LaunchBox games database as sometimes I find that the Games database has some higher quality images and then other times the same images.

All the media that you download from the games database doesn't really have to be renamed exactly after the rom name for the LaunchBox plugin for Rocketlauncher to display it in the Pause and Fade menus. The rocketlauncher plugin picks up images with a -01,-02,etc. on the end of the filename. Although the plugin will not read the images in subfolders. So all the images you have in image subfolders by region will have to be moved out of those folders. The only media I use to have to rename that Rocketlauncher would not pickup was the images and/or videos that had an underscore (_) in the title but a user on the Rocketlauncher forums has modified the LaunchBox plugin so it picks up those images and videos now also as I have tested it out. Here is a link to the modified plugin. http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/showthread.php?4961-Launchbox-plugin-not-pulling-media-correctly&p=39212#post39212

Great looking theme for the Sega Genesis platform. Since the videos are a large size in the theme I would like to see some scanlines added to the video footage but of course I love scanlines with all the retro stuff.I also personally would rather see the front box art on the left instead of the screenshots but thats just my opinion.

@latin625 This guy has several youtube videos on rocketlauncher setup along with integration with LaunchBox https://www.youtube.com/user/colpipes1978/videos

Unfortunately there is not a method to do this at this time. That is the same script I use with Rocketlauncher with my U360's and I beleive that is the only way you can use it.

Not at this time no,nothing has been added to support this. I am not sure if you use Led Blinky or Rocketlauncher with LaunchBox but there is methods with those 2 programs to easily implement changing of U360 profiles.

Oh yeah I guess we derailed the change log release thread big time. Sorry @Jason Carr

The thing is with me is, the Saturn is the only Sega console I never purchased when it was released. I have owned one before but do not currently have one in my crt retro gaming setup. I have mostly only enjoyed the Saturn through emulation recently so its all new to me enjoying some gems on the system that I never got to play when I was younger when the system was released.

I agree Saturn is very underated and I grew up with the Sega Master System as my first console so I have huge nostalgia for it .

@FreeSoftwareServers Glad to see that the change roms folder path worked for you for your roms. I don't think its a bug with changing the windows game path with the change rom path option as there could be many variables for pc games but not quite sure since I haven't tried to change paths with my pc games. Maybe @Jason Carr can jump in and answer that one.
-
@FreeSoftwareServers I am not sure if this is what you are looking for but there is an option in the Tools menu at the top left hand corner in LaunchBox that you can use. It is called "Change roms folder path for selected games" and you can use that option to change to whatever folder path you like for selected games. Also if you are looking to change an entire platform rom path you can do it the "Manage platforms" option in the tools menu. Just click on edit and change the games path for the entire platform.

@knightCrawler You can just simply create a Startup folder in your LaunchBox/Videos folder and drop some videos in there if you would like some random videos to play each time you startup BigBox. If you only want to use one and the same video each time you startup BigBox just drop the video in the LaunchBox/Videos folder and name the video Startup. You can also just create the Startup folder like I mentioned above and just put one video in the startup folder and it will play the same startup vid every time as well.

I used to really like Silpheed on the Sega CD but never tried the version on the PS2. I remember when it was released on the Sega CD there was a lot of hype surrounding it.

@Jason Carr I believe I have found a bug with the scan for added roms per platform feature. I was adding in some new games on a paticular platform and it found the games and went through the metadata wizard fine but it didnt ask what emulator I wanted to use which should be fine because if you are scanning per platform it should use the same emulator that the rest of the games in that platform uses. When the games were added I had to edit each game and pick an emulator to use as it didnt automatically pick it for me.
