Cool idea for a theme...looks great!
-
@ciskohansen So you are saying that you have added "chd" to the the retroarch emulator module like pictured?

I will never buy another Seagate again, everyone I ever had failed before it should have. Currently I use HGST drives but would not have an issue with Western Digital's as they bought out HGST anyway. Not saying these brands sometimes will not fail prematurally but I personally have had bad luck with seagate.

True, I guess would not really know now but I can see performance being a concern. -

Will it be able to work on a Raspberry Pi? -
Launchbox for Linux - Preliminary Discussion
kmoney replied to Lordmonkus's topic in News and Updates
I didn't get to watch the entire live stream but was it ever answered if LaunchBox would work on the Raspberry Pi or not as I think that would be a deal breaker for a lot of people? Also I think you clearly stated that it would be LaunchBox only and not BigBox that could get ported to Linux correct? I personally do not know anything about Linux but do have 3 Raspberry Pi's so I guess I know a little but I only use them for Kodi. Myself personally would like to see the main and only focus on Windows. Even if LaunchBox did work on a Pi, I would not be interested because why would I use a Pi when I have 3 Windows machines that run LB/BB perfectly without any restrictions. On the other hand if enough people are interested and you hire another developer, taking away from LB development should not be an issue but I would make it clear if a Raspberry Pi would be supported or not and that BigBox would not be ported over to Linux as I think that would effect voting results. -
I tried out the Mario pack and didn't care for it, I guess it would be cool to show off to someone but that Zelda and Metroid one does look pretty nice looking and looks like something I would definitely play.

Yes, RL displays the manuals and other media stored in the LaunchBox folder just fine just not the other way around for the Rocketlauncher manual naming convention.
-
I too would like to see this happen but @Jason Carr stated that he was hesitant to add more complicated logic to the file parsing of the RocketLauncher manuals for performance reasons to view and navigate them in LB's PDF Viewer which is understandable. I think in time we can think of another way so we could view and navigate the RL manuals in LaunchBox that would not effect performance so we would not have to have 2 different manual folders for each.

PCSX2 Configurator
kmoney replied to alec100_94's topic in Third-Party Applications and Plugins (Released)
@nadonate You have to add PCSX2 as an emulator in Launchbox even though you use RocketLauncher to launch PCSX2 for the plugin to work correctly. After that you can continue as normal to use RL to launch PCSX2.- 183 replies

LaunchBox is not a game its a way of life

Great job @Jason Carr on the addition of the PDF Viewer. I have been using Rocketlauncher successfully for viewing my pdf manuals in the Pause menu. All my pdf manuals are in folders named after the rom name. Would it be too difficult to add a feature of searching in folders named after the rom name? In this folder I also have walkthroughs for some games in pdf format as well. If not thats fine but it would be cool if I could view and navigate them in BigBox as well.

Really like the addition of scanlines to that one view...looks great! One idea for another view would be to switch out the game screenshot images with box and cart images and maybe have the game description scrolling underneath those 2 images.
-
One very simple way to do it would be to choose the option from the Tools menu inside LaunchBox "Create Missing Arcade/MAME playlist" and it will create a seperate playlist for each one of those platforms and more you mentioned up above. You can even choose if you want those playlist in your platform list.

@Styphelus Great...glad it worked out for you.
-
@Styphelus I was getting something similar to that a few weeks ago and I cured it by adding an exception to Rocketlauncher in Windows Defender. Also make sure you do not have the game loading screen enabled in BigBox as this also interferes with Rocketlauncher starting correctly.
-
Also if you have all your roms named after the Hyperspin naming convention, instead of downloading your images and videos from the games database, you can download a program on EmuMovies called EmuMovies Sync and it will download everything after your rom name from EmuMovies if you have an account there. Although with this method you will not be able to get the images off of the LaunchBox games database as sometimes I find that the Games database has some higher quality images and then other times the same images.
-
All the media that you download from the games database doesn't really have to be renamed exactly after the rom name for the LaunchBox plugin for Rocketlauncher to display it in the Pause and Fade menus. The rocketlauncher plugin picks up images with a -01,-02,etc. on the end of the filename. Although the plugin will not read the images in subfolders. So all the images you have in image subfolders by region will have to be moved out of those folders. The only media I use to have to rename that Rocketlauncher would not pickup was the images and/or videos that had an underscore (_) in the title but a user on the Rocketlauncher forums has modified the LaunchBox plugin so it picks up those images and videos now also as I have tested it out. Here is a link to the modified plugin. http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/showthread.php?4961-Launchbox-plugin-not-pulling-media-correctly&p=39212#post39212

Great looking theme for the Sega Genesis platform. Since the videos are a large size in the theme I would like to see some scanlines added to the video footage but of course I love scanlines with all the retro stuff.I also personally would rather see the front box art on the left instead of the screenshots but thats just my opinion.

@latin625 This guy has several youtube videos on rocketlauncher setup along with integration with LaunchBox https://www.youtube.com/user/colpipes1978/videos

Unfortunately there is not a method to do this at this time. That is the same script I use with Rocketlauncher with my U360's and I beleive that is the only way you can use it.
