  1. Retro808

    Release Date

That screen cap he posted is for the Game DB website. It is not from within Launchbox. Launchbox does not give you the option for just year only when it comes to the game's metadata.
  2. Have you tried the most recent mame version (0.196)? Not sure how old your roms are since you chose to try a 2003 version of mame, but you asked for advice on a new version and 0.196 is the newest. Controllers/gamepads are typically pretty easy to set but with so many options out there and not too mention all the generic options there may be a config setting you have to fix.
  3. You cannot really convert a playlist to a platform since playlists are only reading the roms of the arcade folder it does not actually separate them out. If you are using the playlist route then you need to do as @neil9000 mentioned in his post after mine (see below) Now that you have the SNK Neo Geo playlist just open that playlist highlight all those games and change the emulator from Retroarch to the one that you created called NeoGeo. The one you posted pics of in your first post. If you deleted the emulator recreate it. Make sure in the associated platforms to enter the platform tab to enter your correct core.
  4. Ahh yes playlist option would require less pain in copying out roms from a folder.
  5. Just separate the roms into unique platforms and tell each platform to use the correct Retroarch core. That's all you need to do. You don't even need a separate emulator. Just updated the associated platforms tab in your Retroarch manage emulators screen to include the Arcade and SNK Neo Geo MVS (or whatever you call it) platforms and assign the cores. Just make sure the names you enter in the associated platforms field matches exactly how you named the platform. So the associated platforms tab of your Retroarch would have lines looking something like this:
  6. Well looks like I cannot be of much help. I have pbp files for those two games and they load fine. So I cannot test bin/cue style files for you. Sorry about that.
  7. You say only some do not work. Can you name a few so maybe we can test? Also on the ones that do not work did you right click and edit the game and make sure it imported the .cue file and not the .bin?
  8. The problem is you are not using the correct command line for a custom config in Retroarch. To use a custom config you need the "-c "config\[custom config name here]" command. So it should look like this:
  9. Did you recently update anything or move anything? Do the games run if you launch them directly in mame?
  10. Since you have not received any responses to either of your posts on this issue with RocketLauncher I would suggest posting directly on the RocketLauncher forum. I wish we could be of more help but I do not believe any of the mods really use RL and there are only a small handful of forum members that use it that post somewhat frequently. Since they have not responded you may get a faster answer directly with the RocketLauncher folks.
  11. I do not think you can. In Launchbox if you untick all items in your Tools\Options\Background Priorities then it will only show your custom background of choice. That fixes it in a way. The problem is those settings also affect BigBox. The default background option seems like a fall back in case any of your games do not have an image to meet your background priorities. Maybe one of the other mods may know a way, but I have not messed with it enough to be sure.
  12. Does the marquee monitor only display the images offset like that in BigBox? In other words if you simply open an image from a folder on the marquee monitor does it display as you want it or display in the same habit as if it was opened in BigBox? I cannot help too much with trouble shooting of custom LCD shape as I only use a 29" Ultrawide as my marquee that displays in 21:9 (2560x1080) so BigBox has no issue with it.
  13. Not sure if there is a better way than this, but if you go into Launchbox and click on your Mame/Arcade platform then go to tools\audit it will open up a form that is used to audit media files. In that form if you sort by the "File Path" column it will sort the rom files and allow you to see the game title it is linked to if it did indeed import that rom file you are looking for.
  14. Kind of why I only really update when there is something substantial to make me want to update. Don't always need the latest if it is not that much of an update.
  15. The discount for Emumovies is only for purchase of their lifetime membership. At least that's what it shows on my email from over a year ago.
  16. No worries.
  17. Here is a snap of my CPS3 image folders.
  18. No you are not looking in the wrong place. Emumovies does not have a lot on those kind of obscure systems. It can be kind of hard to find videos. You can post on our platform media subforum and see if someone would step in and make one. There are some content creators that share some work freely, but also have a patreon for most of their work.
  19. Yeah it is definitely a breeze now. But it just makes you miss when you had it even easier.
  20. Man I have to catch up and get to patching my roms. I miss when a certain someone used to have these posted already to go. I mainly just want to patch for @Lordmonkus sweet box art.
  21. Its just a matter of semantics if you have seen any of his videos on his youtube channel. In his complete set-up videos you can see some systems are broken down into their subsets. For example Irem he has each in its own platform Irem M52, Irem M62, Irem M72, Irem M97. Not to mention as @Dan said the playlists.
  22. No worries. Leaving out "fully" in my original post made it a completely different statement, hence the edit Yeah that is something I do as well with the series field. Especially to help with auto populating playlists I may make. Definitely would be useful to have it search the series field.
  23. Yes true. If a game does not have series filled in then it would not find the game. If you look back at my post I edited it. so you quoted old text.
  24. I think this issue is that unless all your games in your Launchbox have the series field populated it still would not work fully. Edit: already mentioned.
  25. You can also map a button to trigger attract mode when you want it. So you can set it to 3 minutes as you want and then when done playing in 3 minutes it kicks in. Or if you map a key, when done playing you can hit the key and attract mode starts right up. It will still cycle through at the interval you set.
