  1. The only problem is, is that this has been proven to almost have nothing to do with us. I told you what I think the solution is, because it has worked with freezing for other people.
  2. To not display the Playlists, just delete them. When you import MAME games again, uncheck the playlist box so it doesn't generate. As for the favorites, I don't recall you being able to show favorites by them selves. Favorites show up at the start of each platform, and if you view all games they'll all show up at the start. There should be a "View Favorites" option in the menu though, so you should certainly add a BitBucket ticket for that. Click Issues/Requests at the top. No, unfortunately I also don't think that is possible. How the Genre menu works is how it works currently. You could also request this addition in a separate ticket on the BitBucket as well.
  3. Yea, I'm leaning towards Windows being funky. Do you happen to be on Windows 10 with the creator update? Odd stuff has been happening for a lot of people related to it, that we can't explain.
  4. Oh that's the eGPU? I thought it was a PC. I see the title of the video now.
  5. Does it do it if you open up an emulator? My guess is that it only detects when games are being played and pauses all function so it's not taking up resources. Since you alt-tabbed effectively, it doesn't know to stop.
  6. Our MAME Database needs updating, but it's kind of complicated. The LaunchBox Games Database is completely different then the MAME stuff. When you import MAME games in LaunchBox, you get the MAME importer that will give you all the filtering options based on our internal MAME database. You can't import an XML, but it works very similarly. I don't think there have been too many changes from .174 to .185, or at the very least we haven't gotten a ton of reports. From what I can tell, the most recent major updates are for games that are already playable, audio and shaders, which don't require and update. If I am wrong, please let me know, but .185 split or non-merged will import fine.
  7. Which is odd, because the Default Emulator box only effects the import process. To change what emulator your games are using, you need to bulk edit all of your games. Unless it's something different and special with RL.
  8. It shouldn't run if I recall, like when playing a game. If it's in the background like you alt-tabbed, I'm not sure Big Box see's that? I'd have to ask Jason, but more info on exactly how it's in the background would help.
  9. For special two screen games like Punch Out, I would guess it's all in the game specific settings. It's nothing that LaunchBox or Big Box would be able to control. Otherwise I'm not sure.
  10. That machine is mostly GPU and PSU, holy crap.
  11. That's strange. Nothing else happened before or after the update that you recall? Because LaunchBox doesn't touch the configs of anything other than DOS, the one that comes with LB.
  12. My guess might be drivers, but I am honestly stumped if it's working in LB.
  13. If there is, I don't know about it. Min. spec is highly speculative to a lot of people, so I'm not really surprised there's no concrete list.
  14. The recent MAME core (no year) is actually based on .185.
  15. That's insane. I didn't realize those were becoming a thing.
  16. Jaguar emulation is very bad, so in that case yes. There aren't many 5200 emulators, so there aren't many choices, but I don't know whats going on there. If it's closing right away, then either the game is a bad rip (least likely), or the most likely scenarios are that the BIOS are not there or the command line is off. The command line changes depending on the file extension too. You have a MAME split or non-merged rom set in your mame/roms folder, correct?
  17. Yea, I didn't think it would. If it's related to the Creators Update then I really do think it's to do with dependencies.
  18. I honestly played N64 games just fine on the PS4 controller. I thought it would be a pain, but after using RetroArch and letting it auto-config my PS4 controller, I stuck to it and it works great for me now. It's much better than my POS RetroLink N64 controller.
  19. Yes, you should make a second emulator called MESS, pointed at MAME. Otherwise your commands are looking good. Also, make sure the platform names match the names in the associated platform section.
  20. There is no command line, you just need to choose the right file. So for example, my games all point towards the eboot.bin file. So a path to one of my games is: "..\..\Emulator\PS3\Games\Tales of Xillia\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\EBOOT.BIN" That launches Tales of Xillia right away. It still wont help the set up that is needed, and you may need to set the name manually, as using the "Use Folder Name" option will call it "usrdir".
  21. Yea, putting in the AHK script that is on the forums will fix this right away.
  22. CPU is the most important factor for Emulation and LaunchBox / Big Box. LB Doesn't utilize the GPU much if at all. Big Box will utilize GPU, but it's still just as dependent on CPU.. Emulators will utilize GPU if they have those renderer's, like OpenGL, Vulkan, DirectX 9, 10, 11, 12, etc. The later emulators utilize it, unless you put them in to software mode, then it's all CPU. If you want size but performance, look for Mini cases and not NUC's. They're gonna be more expensive because of their size, and still limited. If you're willing to go up a bit, you can find more performance at a cheaper price point if you look at small form factors. When it comes to the machine, I would never suggest anyone get an i3. The price difference to an i5 is minimal and a huge jump in performance. An i7 would be preferable. Be careful which i5 or i7 you get, some sku's don't come with integrated graphics. Even if what you're playing doesn't really utilize the GPU, what little it can, plus the OS utilizing it, can help offset. So even a cheaper GPU might be more beneficial then running integrated. If you're mostly running MAME, then a decent CPU can get you most of the way through the catalog. For any later games, or 3D intense games, later MAME, or if you might want to branch out to newer systems even (in the future), then a GPU would almost be a must. Again, it can help with the later 3D MAME titles, but otherwise it might not be a big factor. If you found an affordable 1GB or 2GB VRAM half sized GTX950 (or even lower, or even a GT(S) series card), it can just help with system stability as a whole, even if not directly helping emulation. For some reason the market has tricked us in to thinking that GPU's are the most important thing. And while they are, especially for gaming, CPU's aren't seeing as many gains or performance increases iteration to iteration. People just assume that any CPU will do, and that's not true at all. Your entire system is a fine tuned package, and if anything slouches it doesn't matter how good the other parts are, the bad link brings them all down.
  23. Oh god no, our Database is far from complete. We had our data from Games DB about a year ago now, and since then we've had almost 3 million submission changes from our community. It's growing, fast, but it's far, FAR from complete.
  24. Well, the only problem with it as that those aren't systems really. Like I said, you're more than welcome to make them their own systems, just scrape them as Arcade.
