There are actually quite a bit of games that run great on Citra. Some may require a bit of tweaking but the list has grown quite a bit. They have a compatibility list on their site. The list will even show you what some of the testers used machine wise for a certain game and the Citra build used.

To change a Xarcade joystick to 4-way you have to open up the tankstick and on the joystick bottom remove the c-clip and flip the black spacer over and reinstall. This will only allow the joy to hit the contacts on the left-right-up-down movements. You can then just set the controls in Mame for 1 player as the 2 player side for games you want to use that side for 4-way only.

I concur with @DOS76. What version are you on? Regardless of it not showing it does not need to at all. Simply type the name in. The drop down is just there for ease of use.

Downloading videos and other media from EmuMovies

On the pc you got the error did you try it without the antivirus being on? Doubtful it is a Launchbox or Emumovies issue since you were able to download on another pc. I just tested a few games on a couple of my machines and no issues. -
In addition to what DOS said...you can manually input the name of the platform you want and then it will give you an option to scrape it as whatever platform you choose. It does not have to be in the drop down list in order to be added into Launchbox.

In Demul under plugins and paths options you can change the driver version.

I concur with @neil9000 and @DOS76 . As an old user of MameUI it was this forum that got me moved into regular Mame. Since MameUI is technically a frontend offshoot of Mame sometimes it can cause a conflict with other fronts ends. Not often, but it has happened. There was a period where we had to tell those using MameUI to copy the mame.ini file from the Ini folder into the root folder of MameUI as they had changed something and it was not playing nice with Launchbox.

Just load the core for ds you want, launch a game, then go back into the menu and set the resolution you want in the video settings. When done go to quick menu and choose ”save core override”. This will set that video resoltuion you chose only for that ds core.

What version of Teknoparrot are you running? As of 1.33 that error should no longer occur. So if you are using 1.31 or 1.32 the wiki shows you how to get past that error. Here is a thread in LB forum with some helpful tips on getting it running. --------------------------------------------- Changes in Teknoparrot 1.33 Release: -Mario Kart DX STRPCB error resolved permanently. -Fixed a critical developer bug in Mario Kart DX that caused the game never to run on some systems. (Causing STRPCB as a side effect)

In Launchboxbox under tools\options there is an images section you can control what you want to display and the order of preference. There is a category for background priorities just untick fanart. If you are talking about BigBox there is a setting in images you can untick to not show background fanart.

@On_fire I cannot provide help as to what is causing this, but I am sure one of our more resident genius members will chime in. I can only confirm I am able to use Launchbox on D:, F: , and G: drives on my machines so I am not sure it would be anything hardcoded to C drives. E: drive for me on my machines always houses roms. So I have never really had it on that drive.

I recommend submitting a ticket on bitbucket for the community to vote on adding this as a feature. The more the community votes for it the better to let Jason know how much it is really wanted. It may be worth seeing if someone has already submitted a request for this as well.

You can put them in the region folders or just in the main folder those regions are in. Launchbox will find them. Just name the file exactly as the game has its name showing in your Launchbox setup. If you save multiple pics for the same game just add -01, -02 and so on for each one you add. For example: Donkey Kong.jpg (and if you had multiple images Donkey Kong-01.jpg and Donkey Kong-02.jpg)
-
Not directly from Launchbox. Some emulators have the feature like Mame and Retroarch. You can use the built in Windows program to take screen shots/videos.
-
Not officially no, but just be mindful when posting that links to sites/programs that have Roms is not allowed.
-
About as easy as it could get. Just head to the downloads section and choose "submit a file". The first window will have you select the location to upload. Under platform media there is a bezels/overlays section. Next screen will allow you to drag and drop your file. You can upload a full zipped file or individual files. Then the remaining fields will then show up. You can add screenshots that will display in the forum upload as well.

Thanks @DOS76 I dont use wikis really for anything at all, even outside of emulation wold, since that data is not really validated and any one can post data. So makes sense not to recommend it.
-
Hmmm, I don't think I have seen that. When you import I know the metadata screen simply shows "(recommended)" after the Launchbox database listing. However, on the wikipedia listing it does not show not to use it.

Anyone got the Wiiware box art template on hand?
Retro808 replied to DjBlades's topic in Contributions
Not the exact one you posted but it is what I made to start making my own boxes. I did not like that simple rounded edge of the ones I could find. So I modified a box template to fit my needs. I wanted them to look more like an actual game case. -
I do not believe it is a field available in Launchbox DB. At least I have never seen it. The series info likely comes from wikipedia since Launchbox also pull metadata from there.
-
Yes. I do believe a lot of game are missing series data. Just checked a bunch of games (Sonic, Mario, Castlevania, etc..) and a lot do not have that metadata listed.
-
Pics of what you are seeing would be helpful to better direct you what you need to do. Since his themes do not use certain banners or clear logos you just need to download the version(s) you want, unzip them to the \Launchbox\Themes folder and then open BigBox. Make sure you have setting in place to use different views per platform otherwise when you change one it will affect them all and you know which key is mapped to switch the theme while in platform view.

If you don't know ask. The members here are pretty helpful. I am still a newbie learning a lot myself and AHK (Auto Hot Key) is way beyond my current knowledge level. I know you said you are looking for a single button instance to close, but the controller automation in Launchbox does work to close Sega Model 2 it uses two keys. Could be useful until you find a solution exactly as you want. In Launchbox it is under tools/options/input and in BigBox if you have premium just look for controller automation in the settings. You have to set 2 keys. One as the hot key you hold the other as the activation key to actually close the process.
