I'll just throw this out there. The newest versions of JoyToKey allow much more than just mapping joystick output to emulated keyboard output for gaming. You can use it to perform some pretty sophisticated things.

Look under my Nostalgia Additions videos. I have an Atari Classics in both the 16:9 and 4:3 sections.

What @spectral said.

You are correct!

I personally use a split set. I hesitate voting for a merged set because I have to be careful of an Internet cap each month. I come close to exceeding the cap way too often as it is. Having said that, I fully support whatever the majority decide. This is a wonderful effort. I personally think that the number of separate items should not exceed 500. I know I used to only use an updated version of the MAME 0.139 set which is much smaller than what we have today in a full, up to date set.

Wow, those really look great! I know there are those who don't like box shots that are recreated, but I'm sure not one of them. These are stellar, and I shall use them. Thanks so much for posting them.

How to use Viking's Nostalgia vids with Default theme
dragon57 replied to flatuswalrus's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
@Klopjero, I have been trying to pick up the slack for Viking. If you want some help on recreating the American Laser Games video, just give me the exact specs of what you want it to look like and I'll see what I can do. -
@Mr.Laor, have you tried a different installation of RetroArch just for debugging purposes? RetroArch can be quite touchy, so you never know.
-
Because there are more than a couple of Amiga models, I am sure Viking had to pick one and go for it. That being said, I have been picking up the slack now that he is so busy with real life. If you have any requests, just let me know and provide exact specs of what you would like to see.

Honestly, I don't recall there ever being a specific one for the 500 and/or 600. There was just the one featuring the Amiga 1000 called Amiga.mp4.

There is no way to directly convert from 7zip to GZ without an intermediate step of uncompressing the 7zip first. I have created and tested a batch file with included 7z.exe to give you what you want. Drop the zip file in the same directory as your 7z files and uncompress it. Next run the 7z2gz.bat file. It will create all the temporary files, directories, etc. required to convert one file at a time, so you only need, at maximum, twice the disk space of your largest image. Note: this will take a while depending on how many images you need to convert. I also recommend you do a test run using only one or two of your files in a separate area to make sure everything behaves as it should. I make no guarantee this script won't delete all your images! Having said that, like I said above, I did test this on a subset of my images with no problems observed. 7z2gz.zip

Yeah, its web site says Win 10 is supported, and I see from the forums there others have gotten it to install. I have turned off all malware/AV software just in case that is the cause, but to no effect. I have left a query on its forum and am hoping the creator of the software can help me out. I continue to try things, and if I figure it out, I'll leave the info here, just in case it helps someone else down the line.

Couldn't you just add an app to run after the main application closes (under the Additional Apps tab)?

That bz.bat script deletes the iso file immediately after compressing the old file, so you wouldn't need enough space for all your images uncompressed.

Anyone here know why VirtualMIDISynth won't install on my Win 10 x64 machine? When I double click on the installer, nothing seems to happen. I have downloaded a couple of different versions from its web site and it is the same for each one, ie, nothing. I am running Win 10 x64 1709, if that matters.

Read up on this thread.

@throwingmuse, here are the final ones per your last specifications. I hope you can use them as I need to move on to another project.

Great! Examples are what I need. I'll see what I can conjure up for you.

Seems to work for me here. Hopefully one of the mods will have an idea.
