  1. Yeah all the Genesis games will just sync up though you may have to do a bit of maintenance if you had to make some name changes to get things to scrape properly the first time around.
  2. Are your games mixed in with Genesis games or are there only Game Gear games in the platform ? If it is just Game Gear games and no Genesis games have been imported yet simply select all the games using Ctrl + A and then right clicking then edit to bulk edit. From there change the platform to the Game Gear platform. You also may want to check the images folder for the Genesis platform and see if there is any left over images to remove. If you had Genesis games already imported then things are going to be a bit more messy but the best way is to remove all the games and reimport your Genesis roms without scraping meta data and images, everything should be fine. Then reimport your Game Gear games into the correct platform.
  3. It could be a graphics driver issue but I don't think so. If other Retroarch cores are working fine then the PSX one should be fine as well. And with ePSXe I would start off with the basic video plugin and not the Petes OpenGL one and see if that works.
  4. Yeah it shouldn't be an issue but ePSXe 2.0 should be even less of a problem. Something weird is going on.
  5. Yeah Retroarchs Mednafen PSX core can be a bit demanding but ePSXe 2.0 or newer should be very usable for you. I have had it running smooth on an AMD 1.5 Ghz laptop w/ Windows 10 and Lottes shader and it runs on my 10 year old 2.2 GHz AMD desktop coverted to HTPC. Weird that you are having issues with it crashing. Are you using the built in HLE bios or real bios ?
  6. Cool. I noticed you said you didn't have any Playstation and ePSXe is giving you issues. What sort of issues are you having ? I have had ePSXe version 2.0 or newer running pretty good on fairly modest hardware. What sort of system specs are you running ?
  7. A program called ShellOn works as well. https://sourceforge.net/projects/shellon/
  8. If you just want to boot with Windows placing a shortcut file in the Start menus "Startup" folder. Or if you want to only just BigBox as your Windows "shell" use the program called "bsetshell" to set BigBig as your UI. Get it here http://bb4win.sourceforge.net/bblean/
  9. The option to adjust the font of the default theme in BigBox mode would be nice, it's already there for normal mode.
  10. I don't believe you can set it on a per platform basis.
  11. Then you got something really weird going on. I have seriously never run into this issue ever since USB came into existence. Could be a bad USB driver or something else in your computer, since you say this does it with all controllers and a powered hub. That only leaves your operating system and motherboard. Is it only a Retroarch issue or do other emulators or games have this problem ?
  12. That is weird, I've never seen this problem before. My first guess would be your USB ports are going to sleep and you need to tell Windows to stop doing that but you said you even tried a powered USB hub. I used to run into "ghost key presses" with my X-55 HOTAS but that was fixed by plugging it into a powered USB hub. Try this: Open your Control Panel Type 'Power Options' in the search field and click on it. Click 'Change plan setting' on your chosen plan. Click 'Change advanced power setting' on your chosen plan. Find 'USB settings' and open. Find 'USB selective suspend setting' and change it to disabled.

Ugh, registry entries for a simple config is awful

I don't know if it generates a default one but you can have individual ones for each game and those go in the config folder.

Weird, maybe it generated a new cfg file and fixed itself.

I don't have that game and of course there is always the possibility that game could be problematic, no idea if it is or not though.

ePSXe runs better on lower end hardware which is why I use it on my HTPC. But emulation quality is pretty much equal, they are both about 90% accurate on the tests so that's a wash. The HW core is pretty much the same as the normal core (maybe not quite as developed or a couple of bugs) but it uses the GPU for internal resolution scaling. You can upscale to higher internal resolutions without hitting system performance so hard. I don't use the fps limiter in ePSXe at all and haven't run into issues with it. I also do not use Petes OpenGL plugin on my HTPC. Is the display you are running on a 60 Hz and have you enabled v-sync. Though I do not see a v-sync option in Petes plugin but there is one in the ePSXe GPU Core plugin which is what I use on the HTPC. Here's my settings for Petes OpenGL.

I use Retroarch on my main gaming PC and ePSXe on my HTPC.
  19. Yeah, notice on the right hand side beside the word Auto it has the actual name of the button of the Playstation controller which is what the Hori FC controller I use is detected as. So the Genesis controller button B is Cross and button A for the Genesis is Square on the PS controller. I have not double checked but I don't remember that being the case previously, I remember being labeled as if they were a SNES controller layout.
  20. Check in the config folder. Also if you have more than one controller it usually is best to do the remaps in the quick menu core bindings and not the main controller bindings.
  21. Yeah my Hori FC detects as a Playstation controller and I can remap for other cores but it will not let me rebind the c-buttons for N64.
  22. Yeah its a tricky one, im stumped on it as well since I don't have that controller. The clone USB N64 controller worked fine but I guess RA is detecting the Madcatz controller as a regular PS controller and thinks it has 2 analog sticks. I'd suggesting asking over on the Retroarch forums and hopefully someone there will have a good answer for you.
