  1. Agree. I guess in Launchbox's case background indeed means in the background.
  2. Uncheck the box for download updates in background. That should allow you to see the prompt to update and then see the update progress.
  3. @MadK9 Do not sell yourself short. These look amazing. Thanks for sharing with the community.
  4. @faeran Thanks for the new drops. The family is really enjoying these on one of our machines.
  5. Sadly there is an option that fits what you are looking for size wise, but does not fit exactly what you are looking for cost wise. On my daughter's mini arcade in her room we use a Nintendo Switch joycon for similar functions. She broke a joycon on her switch and had to replace them so we had one to spare.
  6. You can create a playlist called favorites in Launchbox and have it auto-populate with any game you tag as a favorite. In the add playlist form there is a box at the bottom that you can select where you want the playlist to show in the platform categories.
  7. The test pc I have always uses the latest beta and the actual set-up machines are on different versions from each other so likely not a version issue unless it is a pretty old version than possibly.
  8. @alnyden OK so I tried a bunch of different things to get it to do what is happening on your system and I cannot replicate. I even tried on a couple machines I have set up. They all changed the image as it should. In most cases I did not even need to refresh the cache. The new image just showed. Leaving Launchbox open had no affect. Not sure what is causing your issue.
  9. Yeah, I was not sure if it would be the issue for you. Any time you change images refreshing the cache is really all you need. Having LB open really would not have done anything. This is really only an issue when deleting an xml file for like a playlist. LB if open will still retain it. I was just going to try and replicate your exact steps. But you never know odder things have happened.
  10. @alnyden OK so I tested and for the most part I had no issues. Removing the images and copying in the new ones worked just as it should. However, I did catch two instances it did not work in the 30 images I replaced. The reason was that in the mame marquee folder (Arcade platform in my case) there will be region subfolders Asia, Europe, North America, United States, etc.. In the cases it did not work right I had a marquee image in the root folder and the same image in the region subfolder. So I was actually only deleting one instance. Not sure if this is why it occurs for you. Does your arcade (mame) marquee folder have the region subfolders?
  11. @alnyden No worries. Let me test with Mame and see what happens. @neil9000 I got a long way to go to catch up to you and the others!
  12. I cannot say that I have had this happen. Although I do not regularly replace images. I just tested deleting about 20 images from a platform marquee and replacing with other images. The files showed the new image in BigBox and even when going into Launchbox and editing the games it no longer showed the old marquee. You have your marquee images in the actual marquee folder of the platform correct? Can you let me know a particular system you had the issue and I can test? When this occurred was it when deleting some images files and replacing those or was it when you deleted all the image files in the marquee and replaced all? Any chance you had Launchbox open when doing this? Also just want to confirm you only have one instance of Launchbox on your pc, correct? We have seen issues and then come to find out that person had a second instance of LB on the pc and that was causing the issue.
  13. Hopefully Jason can do something like this. I guess if he did do this for BigBox than "low end" would have to be defined. Eventually old hardware loses out to new software. Part of the reason for min spec on some software. After all when using an old pc for emulation you have to make concessions on what platforms you are going to emulate since some require a minimum spec to run the emulation well.
  14. I know you said you have not connected both to the GPU yet but I would try it and see if you get the same affect. It should be easier to control resolution issues that way. That GPU can handle multiple monitors easily. I know the few times I had to do it the way you have, due to the connection ports on the GPU and the monitors did not allow me to connect both to the GPU, I had random issues with certain games.
  15. No worries. It is not something really documented well except for a few posts on our forum. The issue with MameUI is it is technically a front end for Mame and the creator(s) changed something in it. Then when you mix a front end (MameUI) with a front end (Launchbox) sometimes things do not mesh well. I converted to command line Mame thanks to this specific issue and to the forum members here. Just remember this step if you keep using MameUI and upgrade versions in the future.
  16. Try copying your mame.ini file that should be located in the ini folder into the root folder where the mameui.exe file is. This issue started around 0.186 and that was the fix.
  17. Glad your sorted. Just remember anytime you add a new platform make sure it is listed in the emulator you are using under the associated platforms tab.
  18. Should look something like this. Your name of the associated platform make sure it matches how you have it named in Launchbox. The -run=dc -image= does not need to be in the emulation details tab since you have it in the associated platforms already. I don't put it in that tab since I use Demul for Sammy Atomiswave and Sammy uses a different paramater.
  19. I do not see that you added the other two platforms in your associated platforms tab. Since you added platforms called Sega Dreamcast (homebrew) and Sega Dreamcast (imports) those also need to be listed under Sega Dreamcast in the demul associated platforms tab. Otherwise Launchbox does not know to use that emulator for that platform.
  20. So if they run direct in demul there is a disconnect somewhere in Launchbox. Can you share a pic of your manage emulator screen showing the emulator details tab and the associated platforms tab. Also right click, edit a homebrew game and share a pic of the launcher and emulation tab.
  21. In launchbox did you add these to the associated platform of your Demul emulator? In the image below you should also have those two platforms listed so launchbox knows to associate the new platforms with demul. Use the same command line parameters as Dreeamcast too. Also make sure the associated platform name matches exactly how you have the name of the platforms in Launchbox.
  22. The homebrews should work as well. I just tested a couple homebrews and they work fine through Launchbox in Demul. When you say most games work do you mean normal Dreamcast games? Did the homebrew roms get added to the same platform in Launchbox as Dreamcast games or did you create a new platform for the hombrews and imports?
  23. They both work well and definitely a preference thing. Mame is actually a breeze. Just point it to the folder where the roms are, make sure in the roms folder you have the coleco bios zip and make sure you have the following command line in launchbox associated platforms tab for ColecoVision: coleco -cart
  24. Are your drivers update? I have two machines one with a dual monitor and another with a triple and in each set up the monitors are all set to their recommended resolutions and have no issues with LB displaying correctly. I am not an expert in this area just sharing that it should work as you would expect. On my dual monitor one I had this issue but when I upgraded the GPU and then upgraded of course the drivers to go along I no longer had the issue.
